Gobble gooble!

Ed and I took Obi over to his parents' house around 12:30 and we ate Thanksgiving dinner with them. Poor Aurra had to stay home all day with the puppies. I wanted to take all of them, but we felt they were still too young to go through all the that. Ed's dad deep fried a turkey. I love it when he does that. It tastes soo good and the meat doesn't dry out. It is soo juicy. The rest of the food was good, but it's not my mom's. I miss having Thanksgiving dinner with my parents. We still go over there afterward but it's not the same when the food's already cool. After dinner, Ed and his dad were watching the football game and Ed's sister went to work and then the Tryptophen or the Vicodin kicked in and I fell asleep on the couch. Actually I just think it's something about his parent's house. Whenever we go over there and have dinner I always end up falling asleep on the couch.

The best part about the day was that I got to spend time with my niece Amber. She's the only grandbaby on our side. She is 8 1/2 months old. She's been trying to walk since she was 4 months. She is the most amazing child, so good. And is hardly ever fussy. I don't think my sister realizes what a natuarlly good baby she has. I tell her all the time though. Almost makes me want to have one of my own. Someday. Ha! Then I go to work and see all the screaming kids and bad parents. I think I can wait a little while longer.

I think next year we'll go to my parent's house first and then his. I say this every year. It's getting harder now that we are getting older. All the kids have dinner at other people's houses and then end up back at my parents house later in the afternoon. I don't want to play favorites 'cause then we'd always be at my folks' house. lol I love his parents and we don't see them as much (although they live the same distance as my parents -only 20 miles or so), but that's 'cause I'm so much closer to my family than Edward is to his. Plus I work 2 mi from my parent's house so I go to see them all the time.

For the Christmas holiday we spend Christmas Eve dinner over at his folk's house and exchange gifts. Then we drive all the way to my folk's house which is in the opposite direction and spend the night waiting for Santa to come. Then we open the gifts Christmas morning and spend the day there.

thanksgiving, family
