PRE-E & ENGAGEMENT

When was the first time you met?
At Sea World in March of `97. He was a BMX rider in the Extereme Wheels Show and he would walk passed my store between shows.

When did you start your relationship?
April `97. He left a note on my Jeep that said something to the effect of "Hey Punk-ass, let's go get drunk." And then he stood me up. Not really. He was staying with his parents and had been in a car accident so no car. He thought he could use his dad's truck but his parents went out of town and took the keys.

When was the first time you said "I love you"?
August `97.

When did you realize that you wanted to marry him?
I knew after 2 weeks that it wasn't going to be just a fling or dating. I knew that it was going to be a long term relationship. I knew after about a year that I wanted to marry him.

When did you become engaged?
Officially, Christmas Eve 2001, but we had already been planning it since that September.

How were you proposed to?
I knew it was coming but didn't know when. He put the rings on our dogs' collars and said they wanted to be played with me and that I needed to pay attention to them. It took me a second before I saw them.

What does your ring look like?
It is an antique style emerald cut white gold set with engraving on the bands

Did you have any input on the ring?
Yes. I picked it out.

PRE-WEDDING

How did you decide on the date?
September was a good time because Sea World was back to just weekends and the weather was still great.

How much time did you take to plan?
about a year

Was your fiance' in the planning?
Somewhat. I did most of the research and we looked at our options together and chose together.

What was your favorite part of planning?
I like all of it

Did you use any online involved resources to help you in your planning?
I did as much as I could on the internet.

Did you have a wedding shower?
Yes

Who threw it for you?
My mom and sister Audrey

Did you register for gifts? Where?
Yes, at Target

Did you include registry cards in your wedding invitations?
Nope, that's tacky

Did you invite children to your wedding and reception?
Yes, but they were 3 and up. No babies or young toddlers.

Did you send announcements to the paper?
No

Did you have a bridesmaid's luncheon?
A dinner

Did you have a bachelorette party?
Yes, we went to karaoke

Did your fiance' have a bachelor party?
Yes, but they just went to a bar.

Did you abstain from sex for a time before your wedding day?
A couple of days maybe

What did you do the night before your wedding?
We had the rehearsal. It was supposed to be on Thursday but it rained hard that day and the grounds were flooded and the road to the place had 2 feet of water going over it. Our wedding almost didn't happen. But it all dried up by Saturday. After the rehearsal I was stressed because of my family so I went to Sam's Burger Joint the live music club that I used to bartend at and saw The Independents play and Evil hit on me. I wasn't tempted though. He hits on me every time they come into town.

Where did you stay and who did you stay with?
I stayed at our apartment and Edward stayed at John's house, one of the ushers.

Did you do anything before the wedding?
I treated my bridesmaids to lunch at Pappasito's Cantina for great food and tasty swirl margaritas We were toasty at the salon! Edward and his guys went to the driving range.

WEDDING

Where & when was your ceremony?
Saturday September 21, 2002 at Victoria's Black Swan Inn in the gardens at the gazebo.

How many invitations did you send out?
About 150

Did you write your own vows?
No

Was there anything unique or unusual about your ceremony?
Not the ceremony itself except the music.

Did you have any special songs sung/played?
Oh yeah! Edward walked down the aisle while The Imperial March played. It was dark and foreboding. I couldn't help but giggle. And we walked off together while The Star Wars Theme played. It was if I had conquered him. :D

Did your fiance' see your dress before the wedding?
No

Did you take your photographs before or after the wedding?
Separately before. Together afterward.

Were there any photographs you wish you would have gotten?
No

Did you have a videographer? If so, were you pleased with the results?
Didn't have one. Dad took a little video during the reception.

Did you have any "disasters" at your wedding?
Not really. Edward was in the sun and was getting hot. A bug flew into my ear when I first got to the gazebo.

RECEPTION

Where was your reception?
Same place. But in the the ballroom and out on the patio.

How long did it last?
3 hours

What type of food did you have at your reception?
We had the Victorian Secret, which is a Baron of beef with raspberry chipotle and horseradish, vegetables, breads, fruit veggie and cheese trays with chocolate, sweet cream and other dressings. Cake!

Did you serve alcohol at your wedding?
Yes. We had a margarita machine and a keg of Shiner Bock.

What type of entertainment did you have at your reception?
A double quartet sang a 'capella to entertain the guests while we got our pictures taken. We had a DJ during the reception. We had great food, great fun, lots of dancing and a pinata! And instead of the traditional rice, or rose petals, all the guests held up sparklers as we made our escape!

In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel

Were there any other special songs?
Not really

Not been sick or overtired the first 2 days. And I wish we would have gone to more shows at night.
