loooong day!

Today was a long day. I got up early to bring my car to the dealership to get a new tire. I got it there by 8am. My tire wasn't even there yet. Alex the service guy said it was on it's way because they didn't want to deliver it if I wasn't going to show up. I think he never ordered it from NTB or whatever. Anyhow Audrey swung by on her way into town and got me and then I dropped her off at work and went home for a little while.

I had an appointment with Dr. Kempf at 10:45. Well when I got there my appointment wasn't on the books. It was originally suppose to be for 8:15 but I had gotten a call last week from his office asking to change the time because he had a meeting in the morning. They called me to change it, it should have been rescheduled correctly. I didn't cry in his office this time. I have every time before though (3x). I just get emotional when I see him. He's a nice guy. I like him. We talked about the insurance denying my claim for his bills because it was deemed "unusual." And that I already had the number to his billing office and wanted to make everything right so they didn't think I was trying to get out of paying. He said that I was an unsually wonderful person and I definitely should talk to his billing office and they would handle the insurance company for me. He said that although Dr. Scales is dealing with my eye specifically, he (Dr. Kempf) is in charge of everything else that is going on. The other doctors are more like facilitators. They help and handle the treatments but it's based more on what he deems is necessary. He said everything in his notes show that this is not unusual treatment and very necessary since it has come to vascularitis, which is the possibility of losing an organ, my eye.
I also told him about the acidic/sore throat. Turns out I have thrush. Yippee. Now I get to take more meds. I take Diflucan 200mg 1x a day for a week and I have Nystatin oral rinse (I think- it has 2 sets of instructions on the bottle, One says spit and the other says swallow). What to do, what to do? I'll have to call his office tomorrow to make sure. I swallowed the first time and spit the second. ha ha That sounds soo sexual. He raised my dose on the Cellcept to 1000mg 2x a day but lowered my Prednisone to 80mg. I hope my eye doesn't flare back up. I don't see Dr. Scales until the 14th of August. Of course if it gets worse I'll see him sooner. I really need to keep a watchful eye on it. Wow that was pathetic. A watchful eye, on my eye. Yep I'm a dork. I also told him about my chest pains. I think it's from the Cellcept. Every time I go up on my dose I get a sharp pain in my chest. Usually when I'm sitting down and start to get up. I really need to lose this weight and get into better shape. It's so hard because I'm not allowed to do anything really and it's only going to get worse when I have more chemo treatments. Grrrr!

After my appointment I picked Audrey up for lunch. We at at North Star mall at El Cento. I got the special with a slice a pepperoni, a side salad and a drink. I haven't had pizza in a long time. It's so bad for me. I gave the drink to Audrey and had water. Audrey brought me to the dealership after lunch. It was about quarter til 1. My car still wasn't ready. He said is it would be another 30-40 mins. So I told him I would walk to the shopping area across the street and to call me when it was done. Of course 30 minutes came and went and no call. I waited. Read a book about disgruntled workers at Barnes and Nobles or whatever corporate bookstore is there. Finally it was just after 2 and still no call so I called them. It was ready. Why they didn't call me? Who knows? I walked back over there. Damn it was hot and my knees were starting to hurt. So I got my car and had to drive all the way to Sam's to get my prescription filled. They didn't have the right doseage so I had to get it at Walmart (next door at least) and that took 30 minutes. Then I had to go back to Sam's to get the rest of my meds. I bought a multipack of hand sanitizer as well. I cannot afford to get sicker. I didn't leave until 4pm. What a long day!
