Yes! Yes! Yes!

I'm so happy to see someone writing Dallas fic so early on. I was a huge fan of the original, watched it with my mom every time it was on and make it appoint to watch the reruns any time they make an apperance. I was overly excited about the new show and all the pretty the brought into the cast. I went in thinking I was going to automatically hate John Ross and like Christopher but by the end I was rooting the other way around.

You did a wonderful job of capturing John Ross here and I hope the show inspires you to write more because it's wonderful.

Oh, thank you so much! I never watched the original, because I wasn't really allowed, but I always read the summaries in the soap magazines and paid attention to the overall phenomenon. Pretty much as soon as I finished the pilot episode for the reboot, I knew I was a goner...and that Josh Henderson is the breakout star of the younger crew. I already find John Ross a dozen times more interesting than Christopher...which may just be Jesse Metcalfe's fault, because he's not the most nuanced of actors.

At any rate, I have a feeling this won't be the last Dallas fic I write!

Dallas fic! I swear, over time, I think you are 9/10 always the first person I see write for a new fandom.

This was excellent. I am LOVING the new Dallas and the rivalry between John Ross and Christopher and can't wait to dive into it all, the history and the drama and I'm pretty sure that there is some familial bond, even if it's *way* deep down.

I love how the show has paralleled the John Ross/Christopher rivalry to JR and Bobby, who've still got "it" after all these years. It'll be a while yet before the kids measure up, but the journey will certainly be entertaining.
