I'm pretty sure that every time I write Kono/Chin fic, God kills a kitten. Going straight to hell!

Summary: 700 words. Set around the first few episodes of season two. Chin doesn't deserve the lengths she goes to in order to drive him away.
Chin is suspicious. Worse, he's worried about her. Kono knows that he tails her whenever he can, slouched low in the driver's side as if she can't just *sense* him out there in the darkness. In the daylight he calls her "Ipo" and plies her with questions, wondering what's with all the black eyeliner and tight skirts.
"This isn't you, cuz."
"Yes, it is," she snaps, emboldened by the bittersweet taste of her dark berry gloss. "You just choose not to see it." It's one of the worst things she could say to him. Because, of all their family, Chin Ho has always seen her the most clearly. He's always believed in her. He doesn't deserve her attitude or her deception. Most of all, he doesn't deserve the lengths she goes to in order to drive him away.
"I'll join you in a minute," she tells Ray one night outside the laundry. Chin's car is parked across the street, the engine off and the lights killed. He instinctively unlocks the doors and rolls down the window when she approaches. Just as instinctively, she opens the driver's side door and climbs into his lap.
The steering wheel digs into her back. His shocked gaze shreds the rest of her. "Kono, what are you doing?"
"I think you can guess, cuz." His jeans are rough against her bare thighs, the zipper rising against the barely-there crotch of her panties. This close, Chin's beautiful. Perfect. Noble. Disgusted by how he's responding to her. Even when he was dirty, Chin Ho was always clean. But not her. No… she's never quite gotten the sand out of her joints. "Isn't this what you want?" she taunts with a kiss-damp whisper against his jaw. "Isn't this what you're worried I'm giving away?"
He grips her hips, hard, so she can't move against him and make this more sordid than it already is. She doesn't have to look to know that his knuckles are white. "No, Kono, I'm worried you're giving away your integrity. Your soul."
It almost breaks her: that steady belief that she even *has* any integrity left, the soft disapproval in his eyes. She nearly caves. So she goes for the one thing she's always wanted more than his respect. His lips.
She blankets his compassion with a layer of wrongness that he can't reason his way out of, kissing him fiercely, taking his attempts to protest as invitations to invade. He tastes like coffee and anger and shame. Then, at some point, he stops protesting, stops resisting. He goes completely still, grip loosening enough that she can slot herself more comfortably against his groin. It's like he's telling her, "Fine. Do what you have to do." Testing her. Daring her. Challenging her to be better than she is.
But she can't be better. She *won't*. That's the whole point.
Kono knows this should be mechanical, ruthless, nausea inducing… but this is Chin Ho, and she's always loved him. Always wanted him. Always known they would *fit*. So her attack is tempered with pleas and apologies… and it's met by his whispers of "It's okay" and "I won't give up on you." It's met… and then it's mastered by how he strokes his hand up and down her thigh, slides up her back, touches her in the most loving, understanding, of ways.
She should be in control. She *needs* to be in control. But Chin disarms her, just as he did when she was sixteen and begging for a kiss from her hero. He didn't judge her then, and now… now, he lets her hang herself with her own rope. Her own forbidden desire. She comes from just the friction of their bodies alone, gasping, "Forgive me. Please, Chin, forgive me."
"For this?" His lips brush her forehead, the fall of her hair. He holds her while she comes down… while she hits bottom. "Always, Ipo. Always and forever." He nods towards the window, towards the laundry and Delano. "But not for that."
When she climbs out of the car and walks away on unsteady legs, Kono knows she's shaken her tail for good… and that she's filthier than she could possibly have imagined.
