Wherein I spend a few hours with Auntie Beeb.

I think I'm hiding from my life by burying myself in fandom. Good thing? Bad thing? IDK.

Spoilers ahoy. Only click the tags if you've seen the episodes.

So. Ten's lost his goddamn mind. We know that, right? I mean, he was never particularly sane and he's always been a bit of a megalomaniac, but when someone actually has to KILL themselves to set right the path of time that Ten fucked with, you KNOW something is wrong. I really just wanted to reach into the computer screen and slap the shit out of him.

In conclusion, Adelaide Brooke= more awesome than the Doctor.

Also...? The water-possessed people CREEPED ME THE FUCK OUT. Quite possibly the scariest DW villains to date. And that's counting the angel statues in "Blink."

I'm bittersweet about Tennant's run wrapping up. Definitely excited about the last special and seeing Donna and the Master again, but also very, very ready to close the chapter on this incarnation of the Doctor. I don't know how I'll feel about the 11th Doctor, but it's time for a fresh start.

This episode just broke my heart so completely. For Merlin to love and lose like that..it was so, so tragic. Colin Morgan was at his earnest best, and the comedy that arose from Merlin trying to help Freya made my sides ache with laughter. The whole bit with Morgana's dress, for instance, was priceless and I'm sure that there's Merlin-in-drag fic being written already. But as lighthearted as that bit was, it still couldn't completely cancel out the devastation of Merlin's first love going so utterly wrong.

And it wasn't just first love but a huge case of over-identification as well. Merlin's personal monstrosity isn't like Freya's, but he still knew what it meant to be isolated, feared, and to feel cursed. I'm sure it's his greatest fear that one day *he'll* die at Arthur's hand. Colin and Laura Donnelly had beautiful, sweet chemistry together, and she really came across as being his age and just as innocent and young despite all the horrors their characters have both committed and witnessed in their short lifetimes.

I ached for Merlin. And I loved that despite Arthur not knowing the details, he could tell that Merlin had suffered deeply and tried in his boneheaded, adorkable Arthur way to comfort him. When he GAVE MERLIN A NOOGIE I pretty much flailed and squealed. Cajoling laughter out of him, bringing back Merlin's smile...my God. And it kind of made me want to cry all over again. Because Merlin so, so desperately needs someone his own age who knows who he really is. That his best friend, his prince, doesn't know and is duty-bound to destroy anything that's perceived as a threat to Camelot...that's just wrenching.

And then there's next week...where, yet again, one of the Pendragons gets enchanted to fall for a hot chick AND GUINEVERE IS NOT PLEASED WITH THE BULLSHIT. HA.

TEN IS SUCH A DOUCHNOZZLE. OMG. I cannot deal. When he strolls out of the TARDIS all smug and asshole-y to the Ood and then *brags* about how he devirgnized Queen Bess? WTF? Who Is this? We couldn't confirm that The Doctor and Rose had a sex life and he *loved* her (however you want to characterize that love), and he's just blithely talking about popping the Queen of England's cherry?!

:::stabs Ten repeatedly with a rusty (no pun intended) TARDIS key:::

Now, for something not spoilery OR rage-inducing, the Merlin bit from Children in Need. It's ADORABLE:
