It's Greek to me!

Greek came back last night, for the first half of its third season (God, I hope there's 10 more episodes in the spring), and I am so thrilled! Eeeeeeee.

I love that they hit every single key character arc from the get-go. That we touched base with *everyone* - even Beaver and Wade - and they picked up right after the events of the season finale. This show has such a wonderfully fluid quality, it always feels organic and uninterrupted. Any other show on its third season would feel like The Third Season. This just feels like a continuation.

Rebecca making out with a mystery man and then recruiting Evan as a stand-in was great; I'm glad they have a friendship. And Jake McDorman looked SO GOOD. I spent part of the episode biting my nails thinking Bex and Cappie made out, which I know didn't jive with her air of mystery...I mean, duh, he's her ex. Big deal. And the end of the episode *almost* made me think I was right. Until they panned the camera and did the reveal. But how much did I adore the Evan/Cap conversation, even if it DID impact Cappie's decision to go after Casey? Because Evan *should* influence him, they *should* make each other think. I love that they have that bond, that shared experience. AndIfirmlybelievetheygotdrunkandhadsex.

Speaking of drunken hookups, I loved that Calvin and Kevin, er, Grant decided to wait to have sex...and it absolutely broke my heart that Dale was the one who ended up not waiting. Dale, after everything, throwing his rigid moral code to the way side because of the wrong signs...the poor guy. And I loved that Calvin was heartbroken and disturbed for him, too. The whole bit at the beginning of the episode with Grant trying to make Cal think they'd slept together was adorable.

And then there's Cap and Casey. *Sigh*. Scott Michael Foster continues to be one of those amazingly heartfelt actors who can say more in one look than most people say in 60 pages of dialogue. And I love Cap's awareness that he and Casey are on different paths coming at the same time that she realizes she does have - and has always had - a place for him in her life. I hope we see a lot of growth and soul-searching on Cap's part, because he needs to catch up to Casey in that respect. She's always questioning herself and her future while he's content to just coast along being president of KT and not worrying about life after graduation.
