Most of this is cribbed from my comment in

As you might expect, there is actually a dearth of capslock (except for occasional emphasis). Funny how my squee seems to have *diminished* over the three episode season ending arc, huh?
I want to stab someone with a fork. And for someone to write me dirty, dirty Jack Harkness/Donna porn. (Am I right in thinking Donna would break the boy in half? LOL!)
After that amazingly tense lead-in from last week, this episode was definitely a bit of a letdown. As the end credits rolled, I even said it out loud, "I wish Donna had actually died." But then I went back to Wilfred and it breaking his heart and was all torn. I love Wilfred. He should be the Doctor's new Companion.
Reverting Donna back to her pre-Doctor existence just isn't FAIR. She deserves to be more than a temp chattering away with her friends. This season proved that she's extraordinary even without half the Doctor's brain in her head. It really ticks me off that she's stuck back in her mundane life, with the only change being her mum possibly being less of a bitch to her. Maybe if we had just seen a glimmer of *something*, a bit of *hope*. I mean, the way the Doctor explained it, ANY bit of her life on the TARDIS will kill her, so we can't even anticipate her somehow running into her husband from "Forests of the Dead!" How fucking fair is that? GAH!
On the other hand, there was that strange lingering on Donna's giant ring while she was on the phone... and that was SO odd. It keeps reminding me of a chameleon arch. I swear I thought Donna was going to end up being Romana or something.
And as a Ten/Rose 'shipper, and a Rose fan, I pretty much think that she got cheated. She got the human copy of the alien she fell in love with and now they're supposed to just play house? I feel like that was pandering to hardcore 'shippers and fanfic writers in the worst way. How is "he committed genocide and you get to take care of him," romantic, by the way? Um...yick. Not exactly a ringing endorsement! Even if he DID pony up and say "I love you," unlike Original Recipe Doctor. Rose now has to rehab this Doctor 10.5 from the ground up...and she's already been there and DONE that. If she can't have the ORD, just say so. I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I was fine with her living her own productive life in the altverse after "Doomsday," and didn't need her whole existence boiled down to needing a man!
Sigh. ASIDE from all of that, I thought everybody else was fantastic! Jack, Martha, Mickey, Jackie, Sarah Jane... oh, man, Loved it. I loved Davros and Dalek Khaaaaan and that whole showdown. And I'm a-SQUEE at the idea of both Martha and Mickey joining Torchwood. Is it just me or is Noel Clarke smokin' hot? I never really got it before, but I suddenly want to throw him down and do evil things to him involving sweet barbecue sauce. Loved Mickey's reunions with Jack and Sarah Jane! Though, as
kismesteve pointed out, where was Jack and Rose's reunion scene? We didn't get one at the beginning because the Doctor was too busy getting shot and regenerating, and then we didn't get one later after Jack popped up alive again.
Speaking of which, I think I've finally answered my old question about who has a bigger God complex, Jack or the Doctor. Definitely the Doctor. Thank goodness Jackie was just pulling his leg about naming her son after him.
But, geez, does this mean all we have to look forward to now is yet MORE emo!Doctor? I'm over the lonely, wangsty, boo-hoo thing. We had to put up with his PMS all through season three. Season Four made him *fun* again.
Is it Christmas 2008 yet?
This time I'm cribbing from my comment in
kismesteve's LJ...
As I was in the shower still grumbling over this episode, I came up with a really stupid, obvious, question: Why did ROSE have to leave at Bad Wolf Bay?
I mean, now that the parallel worlds were merged for a second, wouldn't have made sense for her to STAY? Jackie has to go back because of Pete and the baby, but what would Rose gain by leaving "her" Ten? They could've sent 10.5 back with Jackie, too, and that would've been that.
Am I missing something that would make that unfeasible? Besides stupid writing?
And assuming Rose and Jackie both have those half-hour charge teleporting thingies is one thing, but how the heck are they supposed to get 10.5 out of Bad Wolf Bay? "Hang on here for a second while we go get the car?"
I mean, honestly, this time around, there was NO reason for the Doctor to end up all alone and sad while everybody else went off together. None whatsoever! It was a completely manufactured, pseudo LOLcat, "I R EMO DR" ending.
I am so, SO ready for a regeneration.
Dude. Cut/expanded scene that was apparently in the Confidential.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zjp4tjWhS68 On the one hand...HOLY FUCK that's hot... on the other, I'm not sure how I feel about 10.5 going at it with such gusto, as I'd much rather have ORD being the one playing tonsil hockey.
