1. I read 'Scuse Me While I Kill This Guy, by Leslie Langtry, and didn't particularly like it at all. It was a very "kitchen sink" romance, with a quirky family, creative names, a clan of assassins, a puppy, etc. There was just TOO much going on in it.
2. Despite all my attempts to view Robin Hood's Marian from an enlightened perspective and not

I wholeheartedly agree. I think the writers could have handled the entire story arc a lot better if they'd had Marian being just a little more on the fence, a little more swayed by Guy's attempts to win her over, actually feeling something for him instead of just just playing him. There were moments when they got it right, but mostly, they were too busy rubbing the "Robin + Marian = meant to be" in.
I love Marian, I truly do. She's strong and sassy and she kicks ass, and I'm sorry that we lost her at the end of the season. But a part of me can't help thinking that she had it coming for the way she played Guy.

Oh my gosh, YES. I feel that way and I feel so guilty for feeling that way! I think there's absolutely a punishment/justice aspect to what happens to her at the end of the season, and that actually makes me even angrier at the writers. Marian kicked ass and really is/was a better Robin Hood than Robin himself, until they started really hammering in the fact that Robin/Marian is the OTP and she'll literally do anything, do anyone a bad turn, just to help Robin.
I think the crux of it is that Robin would never have wanted her to do what she did to Guy, but the writers deliberately had her use those wiles. Why? To what end? If she's not stirred by Guy, it just makes her look like an awful person, because she's essentially betraying Robin, TOO.

I'm not so sure about that part. Because Robin is... well, there's no way of putting it kindly: he's kind of an asshole more often than not, who'd do anything for what he believes is right. Having Marian turn Guy's head because it's of use to Robin in the grand scheme of things is exactly the kind of thing he would do. It's what makes him, IMO, a beautifully flawed and three-dimensional character instead of some generic knight in shining armor. But as much as I love him as a character, I dislike him as a person.
Actually, I never really thought of it that way, but in a way Marian's death is his punishment as well (as it is Marian's... and Guy's), isn't it? And he does deserve it. Huh. Maybe the writers put more thought into the S2 ending than I gave them credit for. (Of course, most likely they didn't. Lucy probably wanted to be let off the hook and they were all, 'ok, let's kill her off'.)

Marian's death definitely metes out punishment to him, to her, to Guy... and you're right, it probably is completely unintentional and has everything to do with Lucy wanting out.

That boy can dance like no other, when I first saw that clip of him from IIFA I really thought that it was Hrithik Roshan so I started arguing with my friends.... After all, no one is quite as elasticky as HR.

HR is definitely half Gumby, but he just bugs the crap out of me. I've never gotten the hype.
Also, yay for your Middleman icon!

HR's hype might be due to his utter lack of expressions? Somewhat like another beloved Bollywood star.
