Pushing Daisies I actually saw for the first time about nine days ago.

Lee Pace is a sweet lead in Ned, the piemaker with a gift, and his buddy chemistry with Chi McBride is hilarious, warranting several "LOL" moments throughout the tightly written --if a bit too fantastic (in the fantasy sense)-- pilot. Er "pie-lette."

My overall sense of it is that this show is not an ABC show. That's the problem. It's a cable show, a show meant for a quirkier audience. The humor is on a different level, there's an adult component to it, and I don't think most people will "get" it or connect to it. I'm a pretty kooky person and in places the Too Too Clever-ness of it tried even *my* patience. It's Too Precious, Too Quirky, and in light of how DLM and Wonderfalls both fared on their respective networks, I'd be almost bitter to see it succeed on ABC where they failed with Showtime and Fox. But I'm not sure it *will* succeed. It might just be...Too Much.

There's also something about the way it's filmed, with all the bright, pop-y colors, and narrated that reminds me of Big Fish. I liked it, but I can't see myself watching it long term because I feel like Ned's "gimmick" will eventually wear on you... especially since he cannot touch the female lead, played by likable but not fabulous, Anna Friel.

I can see why it's a fandom darling already... because it IS clever and sharply written and dark and funny... but I can't say the pie-lette made me want to tune into it full-time. It did make me want to eat pie, though! LOL.

Gossip Girl continues to amuse me to no end. Nate is still gay, Blair is nowhere near as cool as she was last week, and my ridiculous love for Chuck the rapist continues. I need help. I have a lot of television hypocrisy lately. First being okay with Petrelli Love while loathing Wincest, and now hating EJ Wells but liking Chuck Bass? Ack.

As for Private Practice? I. Heart. Paul. Adelstein.
