A Weekend of Guilty Pleasures

Jun 14, 2008 14:59

The boyfriend is away for the weekend, which means I have the house to myself. I have really been looking forward to spending the whole weekend just relaxing at home, doing things that I enjoy while being totally lazy.

This is what I have planned so far....

(The recipe for the perfect weekend of solitude)

+ some light reading: Rob Sheffield's "Love is a Mix Tape: life and loss one song at a time": a cute little book about love that makes me want to dig out my shoe-box of early 90's mix-tapes from my mom's basement, just so that I can blast KLF's "Justified and Ancient" while dancing around my bedroom.

+a pile of untouched magazines. Yes, that's a copy of Bust AND a copy of Seventeen sandwiched between the copies of Lucky (a favourite of mine) and Instyle. Don't worry, sometimes I don't understand myself either.

+a stack of DVD's purchased from the Pacific Mall: included in this pile are some total guilty pleasures like "27 Dresses", "Step Up" and "Nancy Drew" that I plan to watch this weekend since no one is around to see me do it.

+Season 3 of Veronica Mars: I've already seen it, but that doesn't matter. I've been in the mood for some of Veronica's sarcastic one-liners.

= WEEKEND BLISS.
