Getting Carried Away...
Hot pink is everywhere you look. Toronto has officially gone Sex and the City CRAZY. Many stores around Toronto have put out special SATC theme displays in honor of the movie release. My favorite so far has been David's shoe display. The store which was voted by Footwear News as one of the top 10 shoe stores in the world, has displayed shoes to represent each of the characters. For example, Carrie is a pair nude Louboutin pumps & beautiful gold Valentino's, Charlotte: candy apple Ferragamoflats & ballerina pink Moshino sandals, Samantha: almost neon pink Louboutins & some sexy sequined Rene Caovilla's, Miranda: "Mary" by Marc by Marc Jacobs.
(I noticed they also included footwear for Mr. Big, Harry, Smith & Burger)

As for me, I haven't gotten "Carried Away" yet. I'm attending a SATC private screening party next Friday, hosted by some of the girls I work with [they rented out one of the VIP rooms at the Varsity cinema]. So, I still have a whole work week ahead of me before I see the film. That gives me a good 5 days to figure out what to wear. I was reading fashion is spinach yesterday and she was comparing the way women are dressing up to see this movie to the phenomena of costuming oneself to go see the latest Star Wars film. Although I think putting on a pair of heels & a sassy out-fit is a far cry from donning a Wookie-suit, the same sense of hype is definitely in the air. I think this party will be the perfect opportunity to bring out some of my sister's designer rejects that she has so kindly bestowed upon me, like that See by Chloe blouse that I haven't had a chance to wear yet.
Next weekend I'll make sure to post some photos from next Friday's soiree.
Has anyone else attended/or is planning to attend a similar event? What did you wear? What are your thoughts on all this hype? Do you think it's justified? Or are we all just getting a little too Carried Away?
