Chapter 3

It was until 3 months after Yunho bought the puppy that he realized Changmin had sold him a not-so-small one. His Taepoong, as he had named the dog, was growing every day and even though it wasn’t as big as other dogs, it wasn’t exactly what Yunho had wanted.

He had gone to the store with Taepoong walking beside him to have a little talk to Changmin regarding his dog. It wasn’t in his plan to give his dog back or anything, because he loved his dog, but Yunho surely wanted an explanation from the boy.

“So…care to tell me why you gave me Taepoong, instead of a small one?” Yunho asked the moment he entered.

Taepoong instantly began to move his tail and howled to gain Changmin’s attention. When Yunho recently bought Taepoong, he had come by to the store with the dog at least 2 times a week. Always asking Changmin about stuff like vaccination schedule, the best food for Taepoong, or anything Yunho wondered at the time. That was exactly why Taepoong was so used to Changmin, even to the point that Yunho got a little jealous. His dog seemed to be fonder of Changmin than him!

“So you finally realized that, huh?” Changmin replied, walking towards them, to pat the dog on the head tenderly. “I thought you would be angry,” he added, turning to look at Yunho and smiling slightly.

“I love Taepoong and to be honest, I think he is perfect for me. So I have no reason to be mad at you, Changminnie” Yunho answered smirking.

“It’s Changmin or Changmin-shi. Not Changminnie,” he replied, getting a bit annoyed. It wasn’t as if Changmin didn’t like to be called like that, but for some reason when Yunho called him that way made him feel weird.

Yunho laughed at Changmin’s response. “Oh! By the way, Changmin. What exactly is the name of his breed?” He asked worriedly. He had tried to take care of Taepoong the best he could, but it had passed him to know the exact name of the breed, after all Changmin always told him what to do and what not to.

“He’s a Siberian Husky,” Changmin stated, turning around and walking back to behind the cash desk, looking for something, apparently. “Here you have,” he declared, giving Yunho a small book.

Yunho grabbed it and smiled: it was a book about Siberian Huskies. “How much I owe you for this?” He asked.

Changmin glared at him. “I’m giving it to you for free. Consider it a present for taking good care of Taepoong,” he said as he walked towards them again.

“Thank you!” Yunho exclaimed happily, hugging Changmin tightly.

Changmin’s body went rigid, and Yunho noticed it right away so he decided to keep on respecting the other boy’s personal space.

“Uhmm…am I interrupting something?” Junsu asked trying his best to erase the smirk he knew he had on his face, for his own good.

Yunho and Changmin separated immediately.

“How are you, Junsu?” Yunho asked. He and Junsu had met months before, when he brought Taepoong to have his shots. That very day he learnt that Changmin was still studying for being a veterinarian while Junsu already was one.

Both boys met at the vet school and became good friends quickly, even though Changmin used to bully Junsu. But yet again, Changmin was like that with almost everyone. He had a sharp tongue and being snarky was just one of his charms.

“I’m good, thanks,” Junsu responded, smiling at Yunho and then turning his attention to Taepoong. “Is Taepoongie ok?”

“Oh, he is just fine. We were going to take a walk, but decided to come by and say hi, first,” Yunho explained, patting his dog’s head. “But we are going now,” he added, bowing at both men. “Changminnie, thanks for the book!” Yunho waved at them and smiled, before getting out of there.

Changmin sighed and went behind the desk to take a seat.

“You like him, don’t you?” Junsu asked, as he took a seat in the chair beside Changmin’s.

Changmin rolled his eyes. “He’s married for fuck’s sake, dolphin!” He exclaimed.

Junsu laughed. “The fact that he is married doesn’t mean that you don’t like him,” he said nonchalantly.

“Just shut up, Junsu! I have an exam tomorrow and I need to study, so I’m not really in the mood for this discussion,” Changmin said, getting up from the chair and collecting some things he had on the desk. “I better get going because Mangdongie stayed at home and I need to check on her,” he added before getting out of the store hastily.

Junsu sighed. It was a shame that Yunho was married. He was sure he and Changmin would make a terrific couple…

*****

Yunho was walking back to his apartment, along with Taepoong. They were both exhausted. Yunho smiled remembering how true was what he had told Changmin. Taepoong and him were made for each other. Both got bored easily, were extremely active, and liked to be very social. The only really difference was that Taepoong was a master at escapism, as once he made Yunho almost had a heart attack when he didn’t find him in the apartment, just to find him minutes later in the store where Changmin worked, where fortunately just was Junsu at that time.

Yunho stopped in dead tracks when he noticed a very familiar woman standing at the door of the apartment building. “Sooyoung-noona? What are you doing here?” He asked confusedly.

The woman smiled warmly when he saw Yunho with a dog. “Is it yours, Yun-ah? What’s its name?”

“His name is Taepoong, and yes, he is my dog,” Yunho responded still a bit confused. The last time he had seen Sooyoung was almost 3 months ago at the Kim’s house.

“I just came to see how are you doing, Yun-ah,” Sooyoung said in a low voice. “I wanted to make sure you’re doing great without my brother. And also tell you that no matter the circumstances, I will always care for you as if you were my own brother, so if you need anything, you can tell me.”

Yunho smiled. Out of all Jaejoong’s sisters, he has always liked Sooyoung the most. One difficult part about his separation with Jaejoong had been precisely that. The Kim’s had always treated him like one of them, and he missed them somehow.

“Thank you, Sooyoung…” He bit his lower lip. Yunho really wanted to ask Sooyoung about Jaejoong. Even though he knew it was not the best idea, he needed to know if Jaejoong didn’t miss him at all, how Jaejoong was doing, and if he still was with that fucking Yoochun.

“Please, don’t ask me about him. I won’t tell you…you need to get over him. I know that maybe me being here brings you old memories, but I hope we can be friends. But if we can’t, then I understand…” Sooyoung said smiling sadly. Maybe it was not a good decision to come and show some support to Yunho when Jaejoong was her own brother. It wasn’t as if she was on Yunho’s side, to be honest, she didn’t really think there were sides. “I-I think I better get going now, Yun-ah. I’m glad to see you look healthy,” she added, before turning around quickly, and walked away, leaving a speechless Yunho behind.

Yunho smiled at his dog. Taepoong seemed to sense that Yunho suddenly felt down because he licked his owner’s hand and looked at him as if saying ‘I am here’.

It seemed that no matter how he tried, just when things were just fine, the memories of Jaejoong came back.

After taking the elevator to the 5th floor, he entered his apartment with heavy steps, removing the leash on Taepoong’s necklace. He closed the door behind and threw himself on the nearest couch, wanting to fall asleep fast. He really needed it.

Unfortunately his cell phone didn’t think the same because it went off. Yunho considered not answering but he knew that ringtone too well and knew that not answering was equal to suicide.

“What’s up, Hee?”

“We’re going out, you want it or not, Yun,” Heechul stated at the other end.

Yunho groaned. “Got it, come to my house around 8, ok?” He said, knowing he had no escape this time, no matter how tired and down he felt. Well, maybe going out would help him to cheer up a little.

*****

Yunho was bored out of his mind. Heechul was somewhere on the dance floor, doing things only Heechul would do without feeling ashamed. Donghae was laughing his ass off thanks to a guy he met called Eunhyuk or something like that. So, Yunho was left alone with some bottles of soju.

He started drinking one shot after another, and at some point when he was tipsy, a girl came to him. Her name ended up being BoA and she was really nice, but nothing more than that. If she thought this was going to get further, then she was wrong. Especially when Yunho wasn’t interested in women…

Yunho kept on talking with BoA and drinking, wondering where his friends were. He began looking for them with his gaze, when someone caught his attention. It was a guy with wavy hair and he was hot as hell.

He scolded himself for deciding not to wear his contact lenses and tried to focus on the boy’s face. “I’m sorry, BoA. But I think I know him,” he excused with the girl, not wanting to look like an asshole.

She nodded and kept on drinking, as he finally managed to see the guy’s face.

He gasped when he realized who it was. ‘Changmin!’ He thought bewildered. ‘I just didn’t think that Changmin was hot. I didn’t!’

Then he saw another guy leaning into Changmin and telling him something on the ear, making the other laugh.

Something inside Yunho snapped, and even though what exactly was, he decided that he definitely didn’t like the feeling.

That was exactly why he decided to turn his attention to BoA again. Too bad, he couldn’t help but glance at the other boy from time to time.

A/N: Sorry for the crappy chapter but I've been sick lately! :( If that's even an excuse... Also I promise to make a decent Master Fic List, but try to bear with me for a while. I REALLY have to start putting attention on my thesis...

Btw, Jaejoong does have a sister called Sooyoung, so it's not SNSD's one. LOL! xD
