*Newborn*

It was almost surreal. Yunho couldn’t really believe he was holding his daughter in his arms. She was so tiny and delicate that he was nervous and stressed about how to hold her. Fortunately Changmin’s mom and his own reassured him and taught him how he had to hold the baby girl, especially the head.

“How do you feel?” Yunho asked Changmin, who tried to move himself a bit. He had been awake for almost 4 hours since the c-section and until now he was starting to feel the pain of the whole procedure.

“Like shit,” Changim replied truthfully. The medicine effect was passing and he was feeling uncomfortable.  Even though he was a very concerned person when it came to healthiness, Changmin really hated hospitals…and especially the food in there. “Is she asleep?” He asked with a smile.

“Finally,” Yunho responded, still rocking the baby in his arms. “Seems she likes to be held.”

“Remember what my mom told us, Yun,” Changmin warned, trying to sit up, but feeling a bit of pain. “Ouch!”

“Are you ok?” The older asked concerned.

“Yes, just dreading when the time of getting up from bed and walking comes,” Changmin confessed. “I read that is the worst part.”

“Don’t stress yourself about that.”

“Easier to say than to do,” Changmin replied sighing. “Let me hold her.”

Yunho nodded and carefully gave the baby to his boyfriend. “We’re a family now, Min. Do you realize that?”

“I do, Yun. Believe me. I so do,” Changmin responded as he held his daughter. It had been more natural for him to hold her than Yunho, which had amazed their families since Yunho was more child-friendly. But they didn’t know Changmin had secretly looked up some things online and maybe he even practiced with a doll.

“Min…I’ve been thinking…” Yunho said.

“I know,” Changmin interrupted. “Don’t take this the wrong way, Yun. I’m tired and in pain and I just wanna hold our daughter and you to hold me and enjoy her since there is no one else here and she is asleep. So, can we talk about that later?”

Yunho smiled, understanding his boyfriend completely. Changmin was right, when JiYool was born their closest family were there and it had been a chaos. Even though he had been showing her around and they appreciated people’s concern and effort to come and be with them or meet her, they kind of wanted a break.

It was something new and as Changmin had said, Yunho also wanted to enjoy it as a couple, as a family.

“Thank you, Min. For giving me the best gift ever,” Yunho said and gasped after that, making Changmin turn to look concerned to him.

“What?” He asked, as he watched Yunho reach for something inside the right pocket of his pants.

“I almost forget this but I’m glad I didn’t, so here I go again,” Yunho murmured, and looked up to Changmin while holding a black box in his hand. “Thank you for giving me a beautiful daughter and thank you for loving me,” he said as he extended his hand to give Changmin the box. “I wanted to buy you something special as a present for everything, even taking me back…oh and I also read somewhere men can also have post-partum depression and I don’t want you to feel neglected…oh! And I hope you like it because I spend so much time looking around and I swear they told me is for men, so you won’t feel I’m treating or implying you’re a woman an-“

“Shut up, Yun.” Changmin laughed. He opened the box and got shocked at the sight of a white gold with round brilliant diamonds bracelet.  He could even see the Tiffany & Co. emblem along with the name of the bracelet that said: Century. “Wow,” he didn’t really know what to say to his disgustingly corny and romantic boyfriend. “I…you…Kiss me.”

Yunho laughed at the rare shocked expression of his lover and did as told. “I take it as you liked it.”

“I do. But it’s too much,” Changmin said, still a bit shocked and moved by the gesture. He bit his lower lip, trying not to cry of he would wake JiYool up.

What he had done to deserve someone like Yunho in his life?

“I love you, Shim Changmin,” Yunho said, grabbing the other’s hand and squeezing it. He knew Changmin was on the verge of tears, which was something extremely rare. So he didn’t know if it was a good thing or not.

“The feeling is mutual, Jung Yunho,” Changmin responded, smiling at his boyfriend. “I love you, too.”

“So…is there a chance we can have another baby soon?” Yunho asked excitedly.

“Don’t push your luck. Let me pass through all this and see.”

*****

Changmin didn’t know if he should be angry or amused. It was night and he was still in the hospital since he was going to be discharged until the next morning, so Yunho had confirmed he was going to be the one staying and helping Changmin out and taking care of JiYool for the night instead of Changmin’s mother as was previously thought about.

Yunho was fast asleep in the couch beside Changmin’s hospital bed and Changmin didn’t know if to punch him or let him sleep.

Indeed, they day had been tiring as hell. A lot of people had come in and out, talking to them, holding JiYool, congratulating them so by the time the visits weren’t allowed anymore they were thankful that such rules existed. Still, Changmin was becoming annoyed. Yunho just didn’t react whenever Changmin called for him. Jiyool was waking up, wanting to her diaper to be changed and Changmin would have done it happily, well maybe not so happily, but he would have done it by himself…if it wasn’t for the fact that he had just had a c-section and hurt as hell.

“Wake up!” Changmin whispered, throwing his pillow to Yunho, who at the feel of the hit, woke up immediately.

“What? What happened?” Yunho asked barely awake, and confusedly looking around.

“Help me change JiYool,” Changmin mumbled. “You’re supposed to be here to help me so do it or send my mother in and get out!”

Yunho gulped and nodded before doing as told.

Yunho opened the backdoor, and carefully go the car seat out from its base, and set it on the ground. Next he opened the passenger side door, and helped Changmin out of the car. Both men walked slowly to the front door, and Changmin got out his keys’ from the diaper bag, and opened the door. Yunho let him go inside first, and he followed with JiYool.

“I can’t believe my mom wouldn’t let us go home yet until she made sure that the car seat was in place correctly,” the younger boy complained. “It’s almost 11.30am and I’m tired and sore!”

Yunho smiled and walked toward the living room.

“Careful, Yunho!” Changmin said as he set the car seat on the coffee table. “Don’t rock it so much!”

Yunho sighed and he turned to his boyfriend. “Chill out, Min,” he replied, as Changmin lowered himself onto the couch. “I won’t hurt her and you know that.”

“I do know that, but she’s so small and fragile,” he said looking into the car seat and into the sea of blankets. “Look at her.”

As that was muttered out of the young man’s mouth, the new baby started shifting in her sleep, and let out the loudest cry.

“Well, we know where she got her lungs from,” Yunho joked, and unhooked the baby from the car seat before kissing her on the head. “What’s the matter little princess?”

Changmin groaned. “Oh God, here comes the baby talk.”

“Of course I’m going to talk to you in baby talk,” Yunho said to his daughter, who quieted down a bit, in a higher-than normal-voice. “You’re just a tiny baby….my little princess.”

“You sound retarded,” Changmin joked, as he put a hand on his still healing wound in his navel.

JiYool squirmed and cried that beautiful newborn cry. It was already dubbed the ‘hungry cry’ by Changmin.

Yunho smiled at JiYool, and carefully handed the baby off to her ‘mother’, and went to make a bottle for her.

Changmin looked down at his new baby, and smiled to himself. She was prefect combination between him and Yunho. She had his eyes, and Yunho’s mouth and nose.

“Don’t cry,” Changmin whispered softly. “There’s no need for it, because Eomma has you.” JiYool calmed a bit, but whimpered. “Are you almost done, Yun?”

Yunho cursed as he was measuring the powered milk. “Almost,” He mumbled. “What much is she supposed to have again?”

“How am I supposed to know?” Changmin asked his boyfriend.

The older man sighed. “Call your mom or something?”

“No way,” Changmin frowned as he put the crying baby on his shoulder, and patting her back softly. “She is going to lecture us about not reading those baby books. She would force herself over here and I’m not really in the mood for it.”

Yunho thought for a minute. “Let’s call JaeJae.”

“Do we have to?” Changmin said sarcastically but took it back as Yunho gave him a look. “Fine.”

Yunho grabbed the house phone, and dials his best friend’s number. The phone was answered after the second ring.

“JaeJae!” Yunho said loudly as JiYool’s crying picked up. “I have a question.”

JaeJoong yawned. “It’s too early, Yunho.”

“It’s almost noon! But anyways… it’s about JiYool’s feeding,” he told his friend quickly. “How mu-”

“2 ounces, every two hours,” the elder said then hung up.

“Well…?” Changmin asked, growing annoyed at the situation. “She needs to be fed right now. She’s screaming my ear off.”

Yunho helped Changmin to take a seat on the couch of the living room and quickly prepared the bottle and went back to Changmin and his baby. He shook up the bottle to mix the milk, and handed it to his lover.

“2 ounces ever two hours,” he repeated.

“Isn’t that too little?” Changmin asked. He grabbed the bottle and started feeding JiYool.

“Well, she is little,” Yunho stated as he took a seat beside his boyfriend. “Want me to help you?”

Changmin shook his head slightly. “I got it.”

By the end of the evening, both parents were exhausted. For being a day old, JiYool wore them out with the constant need for attention. Yunho quietly stroked the baby’s head, and backed away from the bassinet.

Changmin looked on in silence, and set the bedside lamp on dim.

“I’m so tired,” the younger mentioned.

Yunho laughed and helped his beloved get settled. “We’ll get used to it.”

“Do you think we can do this? Can we be parents to this little girl?” He asked his boyfriend with slight worry in his voice.

Yunho brought Changmin’s face in to his hands, and silenced him with a chaste kiss.

That was all the reassurance Changmin needed.
