more thoughts on 6x15

In rewatching this episode I caught some more of the dialogue (the first time around I was laughing so hard I missed a lot of it), and some of it really got me thinking.

The two exchanges between Dean and Sam about the pros and cons of their universe Winchesterworld  (and if any millionaires are reading this- yes you have my permission to make that the name of a Supernatural-themed amusement park!) and  TVShow-world.

The dialogue goes (complete with Lennon-quote) :
-------------
DEAN You know that if we drop Virgil, get the key, then this might be it. We might be stuck here.
SAM No, we'll figure out a way back.
DEAN Yeah, you wouldn't be that broken up if we didn't, though.
SAM What? Don't be stupid.
DEAN Well, I'm just saying. No hell below us, above us only sky.
SAM Dean, our friends are back there.
DEAN Yeah, but here, you got a pretty good life. I mean, back home, the hits have been coming since you were 6 months old. You got to admit, being a-a bazillionare, married to Ruby, the whole package. It's no contest.
SAM No, you know, you were right. We just don't mean the same thing here. I mean, we're not even brothers here, man.
DEAN All right, then. Let's get our crazy show back home.
---------------

So the way I heard this originally I thought Dean was arguing they should stay in TVShow-world, but my dear friend (who is often the Dean to my Sam) said that no, she thought Dean wanted Sam to stay, and Dean would head back on his own if he could.
This struck me as very sad, and very Dean. He's still trying to give Sam the normal life he wanted years ago.

The thing is- Sam doesn't want that life anymore. The world he and Dean saved, the world he threw himself into Lucifer's Cage for is where he belongs.

Sam has two pros to going back home:

"Dean, our friends are back there."
and
"I mean, we're not even brothers here, man."

This is Sam with his soul. Nothing is more important to him now then his human connections: family and friends.

The very end of the episode gives us one more exchange:
----------
SAM (knocks on the wall) Solid. (Sam breathes out in relief) It's real. Nice.

DEAN Yeah. Yeah, real, moldy, termite-eaten home sweet home. Chock full of crap that want to skin you. Oh, and, uh, we're broke again.

SAM Yeah. But, hey...At least we're talking
----------

...and here it is one more time. Dean mourns the loss of a simpler life, of material comforts because he has always been (or at least seen himself as) the provider.

Sam on the other hand is just happy to be talking to his brother.

These were the only really weighty scenes for me in what was otherwise a joyous romp (as Edlund's eps always are) - and no, even Castiel's BAMFitude was hilarious to me - sorry, I couldn't stop staring at his tie, which was backwards ; )

Also - I predict Castiel is and has been in league with Hell. This is based on the following exchange at the very beginning:
---------
SAM And where's Cass?

BALTHAZAR Oh, Cassie? He is deep, deep underground.
--------

Thoughts? Questions? Ideas for rides at Winchesterworld? (Obviously the Roadhouse would be the food court area. I'm thinking you could also have one of those Tower of Terror type freefall rides to simulate Sam's fall into the Cage...)
