9x11 insta-reaction!
Though I imagine this was a glorious episode for Sassy shippers let me warn you straight off that I was not too enthused by Sam's storyline.
My expectations for Sam's storyline this episode were already extremely low. Considering he's been knocked out in I think every single episode of season 9 thus far my only wish was that he would remain conscious for an entire episode. Okay that's not true- I also wished that the t-shirt from the promo shots would be in the episode AND IT WAS!!
However I can't really say I liked the grace extraction because I didn't. I'm sick of Sam being dying or near death and while I am glad that Castiel assured Sam he'd done good things- Sam should KNOW THAT! He fucking sacrificed himself for the world! Threw himself into the PIT! Defeated LUCIFER! and he still has that much self-doubt? So much that he still wants to die?
::clutches onto fellow Sam-girls::
and now for my questions segment:
So...Castiel was lying right? And he saw where Gadreel is? That's what I think happened there.
...and if every angel leaves grace behind in their vessel then there is some Lucifer inside of Sam too, right?
How did Castiel insta-heal Sam at the end there if it took him tons of healings beforehand and Sam reverted back to his fully-near-death state from the grace extraction?
and finally
As quickreaver and I were discussing...and it makes me sad to ask this, but really:
Does anyone know how to write Sam on this show anymore? : (
I expected to see some real anger from Sam and didn't. He's just resigned and sad and it feels odd. He should be furious, and we haven't gotten to see any of that. Maybe it's waiting for when Dean returns? It's possible that this will all fall into place later on in the season but I just...I miss Sam who could whoop some serious ass! I miss Sam who was magnificent in his righteous fury! I miss Sam shirtless doing push-ups!
I miss Sam.
And as for Dean's part of the storyline- I was psyched (hee!) to see Cain and thought Tim Omundsun did a fabulous job! I love seeing actors I usually see in comic roles do a serious part. also that beard made him look all kinds of hot omg what's happening to me? See what happens when I don't get shirtless badass Sam? DO YOU SEE?
That being said- WOW did they redo the lore on Cain. I'm okay with that though and I actually love the whole bit with Lucifer having claimed Cain as his own.
The mark of Cain though. That's why he's immortal in the lore? So what does that mean for Dean?
Okay folks- cheer me up please. Tell me about an upcoming season 9 episode (real or imaginary) where Sam will kick truckloads of ass whilst shirtless.
