YAY! You get a "I did my mythology research" cookie Loflin! I got excited about the bird pecking at Prometheus's liver. Even if it was a clearly digital liver-pecking. But still yay! And tied to a mountain reference- yay!
Also I enjoyed Sam taunting Artemis. Anytime the boys taunt gods I enjoy it, really.
The actor playing Zeus was channeling John Glover, and though I would have preferred John Glover, that's okay! Between him, leather-clad Artemis and the ridiculously attractive soft-core porn lumberjack Prometheus this one did kind of feel a little bit like Smallville- but the good Smallville with Lex in the white suit and stuff. Then I went to look up the actor who played Zeus and lo and behold:he was in two episodes of Smallville (sadly not as an understudy to John Glover)
So here's the thing - wardrobe department: listen- you know that shirt you dressed our soft-eyes lumberjack in? THAT IS WHAT SAM AND DEAN NEED TO BE WEARING, OKAY? If you're going to insist on being unreasonable about not always requiring them to be shirtless- as they should be then at least put them in those skintight thermals with the muscles and the arms did you see the arms and the fight-scene with the flexing and the oh I'm never going to look at my roll of Bounty paper towels the same way am I?
ALSO! Dean standing outside sipping his coffee, matter-of-factly saying things like "Huh. So it's a god-curse. K, then." Was the highlight of the episode for me. They should indeed be this unimpressed. What's gonna surprise these two guys really?
Also- Dean is so proud of his heritage- it's adorable! And Sam with the books and the reciting every version of the Prometheus story and discovering forbidden love on the fly while being pressed against the wall by a goddess with a knife. ::applauds::
However, I do think his speech to the kid at the end should have started with "You know, this one time I was Lucifer." Because that's how all of Sam's pep-talk speeches should start. You don't impress a god-ling with sundaes Sam. Come on, now.
and then Dean prayed in his room and his eyes were all shiny and Cas is all "Sorry Dean, I'm busy watching this fascinating show called Stargate. There's a woman on it that just looks so damn familiar...."
In conclusion- I know Sam's suffering from trial-sickness or whatever, but until I'm specifically told that's why he's coughing up blood I'm going to pretend the rinsing the blood out of his mouth was because the Men of Letters have an awesome wine-cellar which just happened to have several casks of really, really high-quality demon blood and Sam totally thought it was wine. Really he did. Sam's powers: come back, baby.
You know his whole glowy-arm is the same arm that he used his power with and the same hand that had his Lucifer scar. Do we think he sent something into the ground after the completion of the trial, or received something, or both?
because.... [HERE BE SPOILERS] SPOILER ALERT next episode (March 20th)

Sam and Meg fight to hold Crowley off while Dean and Castiel go in search of the crypt. Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Robbie Thompson source
parting thoughts: SAM: Okay so who do we know that has Jason Bourne level fighting skills, dies a lot, and has a history with violent women?
