Evan and I had fun yesterday in Placerville, CA. We went to the spiritual center upstairs at the cozmic cafe, hung out and listened to the speaker then did a bit of drumming afterwards, was fun.
We then went downstairs while Momma got some Costa Rican coffee and eggs. mmmm good coffee and stevia (gotta get some stevia again!) Evan wanted to go and get a paper to do the crosswords and I wanted to check out the bohemian/hippie shoppe next door called "Empress", so we wandered across the street got the Sac Bee and he started in asking me," Momma, what's a 5 letter word for abandon?". As we were wandering around in this cool shoppe the girl got into the act and started trying to help Evan figure out the crossword. It was cute all of us trying to come up with what we thought the right answers were. The young girl was crocheting a scarf and Evan asked her all kinds of question about what she was doing, then said to me, " Momma I want to learn how to do that", Hmmmmmm.... ya know, it's been forever since I was taught how to crochet, so I told him, " how about we both find a place to learn/re-learn how to do it". He liked that idea.
We also spoke of moving closer to Placerville. Somewhere between Folsom and Placerville would work for me, closer to the mountains and the spirituality the area offers, both nature-wise and people-wise.
We, err I decided to go for a road trip and explore so we took 49 north to Coloma. Talk about beautiful! The area was making my eyes drool, all the beautiful trees and nature, it was like a photographers dream/ my dream! gottta get my new camera soon!!!!!
As we pulled into the quaint gold town they were having a Christmas festival and I could see medieval attire as well as tun of the century attire abound in the street, not to mention the pavillion's letting me know the SCA was there, which one, I don't know. I knew I had no money, so as bad as I wanted to stop, park and get out, I managed to show self restraint and remain in the car and told myself, 'next time Monica'.
It was a great day of just getting out and exploring yesterday. It gave me some better ideas for area's to move to from here. I really want Evan to go to a nicer High School when he starts. I have heard many people rave about Folsom High. They say it is rated one of the top schools to attend High School. I want the best for my son and will do what ever I can to make sure he has a positive experience in his teen years, as I know they will shape who he becomes for the rest of his life.
Time to get ready for TGIF's with my new friend Glenda from Carmichael.
