Places to see and people to meet~

Evan and I went exploring in our new area yesterday. We went to one of my favorite(so far) metaphysical shops yesterday in Folsom called http://www.planetearthrising.com and did a bit of shopping. I bought a bellydancing wispy blouse and got Evan a cool pakistanian type of vest/hoodie with a cool long druid type of long pointed hood which he immediately put on and loved! I also bought him his first 'book of shadows' book. We made some cool connections and one of the staff immediately took an interest in me and we started chatting about the store and my recent move. She happens to be the bellydancing instructor and told me repetedly how great it would be to have me come to her class and was insistant on me calling her and coming to the workshops. She huged me and was a very warm spirit indeed.

We then proceeded to drive up the mountains towards Tahoe to check out 'Apple hill' this is a row of applefarms with lots of arts and crafts for the family, then we drove into the old historic ( my weekness) place of Placerville. We meandered through the cool old town with many of the historic buildings kept much intact and found this INCREDIBLE shoppe called. http://www.gothicroseantiques.com This is a must for any and all who are into gothic decor with a touch of transalvania thrown in for good measure. This shope literally blew me away. When you walked in it was almost completely dark and everything in there was black or silver and many antiques and manequins abound. This looked like it was designed with a theatrical flare. The mistress was of course dressed very maccabe as well to fit in with the theme of the shoppe. I will definately be returning when I have more money to spend there. She had skulls in jars, vintage jewelry and clothing, antique pictures, antique hand held mirrors (my favs) and lots of incredible lifelike mannequins dressed in full authentic maccabe garb ( like I said it was all black and lace). Needless to say I have never seen a shoppe so theatrical or authentic looking my whole life, I just keep saying "wow" as I was walking through the shoppe.

We left about 5:30 and Evan was getting hungry so we decided to head back home to Sacramento to consume the roast that had been cooking all day in the new crockpot.

All in all it was a good day, although we got a later than usual start (teenager son likes to sleep in now). Today I think I will go and look for some new cargo pants for work and see if we can check out a movie later.... I think I say where "Elizabeth" was finally out with Cate Blanchett, or something else of an interesting feel. Know to find out where the closet theatre is near me....(smiles).

Yes, people I am totally loving the new town, lots of festivals and drumming circles and pagan/spiritual events happening ALL the time and everywhere..... (sighs of pleasure)*
