Gah, I have a cold, so at some point this may turn into random ramblings.
Watch
this video. Because it's awesome in a [title of show] way.
I presently feel like my column on the demise of Broadway is no longer relevant. Since the first draft was turned in, I've had to change a sentence from "[title of show], an off-Broadway transfer that is supposed to close October 12" to "[title of show], an off-Broadway transfer that will be closing on October 12" to "[title of show], an off-Broadway transfer that closed on October 12." I've been waiting for it to be published for the past month. But that's not why I feel as though it's no longer relevant. Spamalot and Hairspray are going to be closing in January and in my column I say that the overpopulation of musicals based off of movies is lowering audiences expectations and detracting their interest from original musicals because they want to see something they're familiar with. I also say that Spring Awakening is a successful underdog, but it really is because it will have played more than 800 performances when it closes. I wish I could find out why it closed.
I have this bizarre desire to send MRSA plushies to the infected team members of the Cleveland Browns. I can't stand American Football, but I totally want to do it.
I need to proofread my play.
