Adventures in reading!

Dracula from Dracula is awesome because, even if you ignore his supernatural vampire skillz, he's still a really spooky old guy. In fact, that's most of what his deal is.

The story structure was really interesting, too. In the first several chapters, a main character and the reader spend all their time with Dracula, and the reader gets a really vivid picture of Dracula. Then, after the shit hits the fan, you never really see him again. That is, Dracula's personality and presence are always there, and he is clearly the driving force behind the whole mess, but you only actually see glimpses of him and the aftermath of his spookiness. The reader can then infer exactly how weird things are, based on how well Dracula was described in the first few chapters. It's a whole lot of fun to read a book where a lot of the story can develop in your head, just based on the author's careful and intentional hints, and Stoker made a book that does exactly that.
