A roommate at the Gilded Castle, the very second person Alex managed to get conversation out of, and an increasingly persistent presence during his stay in Splendor. A friend, perhaps? Maybe. If Darkovs were meant for friends outside of their own. Alex is still instinctively clutching to the very values he mocks even as he interacts with this one, finding the attention enjoyable and, in some ways, worth seeking out, even if (no, especially if) that makes him a pest. Seeing as this is Alex's very first human friend, it's a fun experiment! Though Edel can be painfully dry and boring, it's easy to throw him for a loop, which is what keeps Alex coming back time and time again. He's a lot like his young brother, Adam.✦✦✦✧✧✧

the girl who leapt through time
A funny girl he came across in the Metropolis District, fairly forgettable if not for those chance seconds where she seemed to catch on to something deeper, only to skirt away from it on a whim or change of topic. Alex wonders if she actually is interesting at all, or if perhaps his senses were playing tricks on him. Either way, it was really funny to see a girl with such short hair and a spunk not unlike his cousin, Danielle.

The first responsive person Alex encounters happened to be pretty damn bloodied up at that encounter. It left certain expectations about the new city, some fulfilled, but only in warped, unsatisfying ways. In any case, the smiling man he met mirrored his own disposition in ways, though Alex would hardly consider them alike beyond appearances. There was something in the bloody man's walk that left the distinct impression of something a lot more than wayward wanderer; it is something Alex would be very interested to find out. He's clearly not a regular human, which clearly leaves him open to harm.✦✧✧✧✧✧

He found this girl happily getting doused in paint via magic bubbles. It was...obviously a new sight, and he wound up engaging her in a conversation that took many different tilts and turns for the both of them. She could have been very easy to forget had she not presented herself as a source of intel on the city (particularly that whole thing against violence going on), and that curiously long hair of hers. She was a pleasant, albeit tame distraction, and the mixed-up scents from Splendor have kept him from recognizing the truly magical facets she possesses. Perhaps that's for the best - for her own safety.

Ah, hate at first smell. Snooty, hoity-toity Arabia is the type Alex can hardly stand to grin and bear, magic aside. Mix in the incident involving a temporary bout of paralysis, and there is now little left but animosity for the strange man (and his pets, if only by association). Alex will look for any excuse to cause him more trouble or to do as he likes and simply beat the man to a pulp and convey the message to never, ever interfere with his body again.✧✧✧✧✧✧

tales of the abyss
Another castlemate met early on, Luke is a painfully boring existence for Alex. Granted, their interactions are whittled down to Luke's time under the weather, so he wasn't wholly fit to entertain. Even so, Alex was not impressed, but may be keen to prod for interesting reactions in the future. At the moment, Splendor itself provides more useful distraction.

Goofy, unusual Rob. A poorly-spoken castlemate that simultaneously seems to let on that there's more to him than what appearances give way to and seems painfully dull. Circumstances brought on by Splendor's meddling give rise to the former, but the latter is all Rob. Alex takes small, brief amusement in his twitchy, uneasy reactions, but it gets old fast. If it weren't for the fact that this Rob seems too eager to associate with scum, he could be easily forgotten. But as it were...Rob may require dealing with on some level.✦✧✧✧✧✧
