“Look Hae! It’s the U.F.O once again.” Eunhyuk announces and Donghae looked up and smiled at sight of the lights dancing in the dark clouds.
When has it been, when he falsely thought it was a U.F.O? Sure, a grown up 24 year old would definitely know better, but for a 5 year old like him back then would be ecstatically surprised and curious. Though his best friend knew better, he knew he just goes with the flow that the dancing lights were U.F.O’s for his sake.
“You know where to watch Hyukkie. Why don’t we-“
“I’ll see you in the roof, Hae.” His best friend smiled before rushing to the stairs and through the attic where the rooftop is located.
“-race… Ya! You win! Hyukkie wait for me!” He said before he too started to run, catching up with his best friend.
When they were still kids, they always racing to the top every night they want star gazing, whichever house they wanted to sleep-over and as long as there is a roof to lay, watching the high definition sky boastingly boast its shining stars.
“Gotcha!” He said in between his breath. “We’re too old enough to run, Hyukkie.” He said as soon as he catches him up.
“But we’re not too old enough to watch that dancing lights?” His best friend sheepily smiled when Donghae gave him a pout. “You know, it’s a good thing we always go back here every once in awhile,” Eunhyuk breathed, “I feel like I’m turning back into a child.”
“You think so?” He asks though in his mind he agreed on to what his best friend had said. Sometimes, he dazes-off remembering how his childhood memories filled half of his heart. The other filled with his best friend, of course.
“Yeah,” Eunhyuk then ruined his hair before guiding him towards the roof. “So, are we going to star gaze once again, after?” He asks once they lay on the mattress. Eunhyuk is on the left side of Donghae and the latter is on the right side of Eunhyuk. Always the same position since they started star gazing.
“Yes,” He said and Eunhyuk’s answer made his brows frown. “Why? Are you tired watching it, Hyukkie?”
“Not that I mind, Hae. But,-“
“But?”
“It’s just, I’ve been thinking, you’ve been staring at the stars too long. Are you wishing something every year?”
“Well, Nosy Lee Hyukjae, that’s a secret.” He smiled.
“Pff, as if I didn’t know already,” Eunhyuk blurted out that made him freeze in his position.
“W-what did you say, Hyukkie?” He frozenly asks him.
“I said, I too am wishing on the stars,” Eunhyuk said and looks away when his eyes ask for more information.
“What are you wishing anyway?” Donghae asks and lifted his face back at the stars.
“Well, there are two of them. I’ll just tell you the first one since it came true already.”
“What is it, Hyukkie? Tell me, tell me!” He said with much enthusiasm in his voice. Maybe they have the same wish, though his wish still doesn’t come true yet. maybe it’s the time his wish will be granted.
“That you wake up from seeing U.F.O’s.” Eunhyuk chuckled when Donghae punched him lightly in the chest.
“Why didn’t you tell me it wasn’t a U.F.O I have seen, back then?” He asks with an exaggerated upset expression in his face.
“Because you’re too engrossed on the fact that there are real U.F.O’s flying around in the sky. I would be more devastated to see you devastated, Hae. You’re going to cry and whine and-“
“Okay, that’s enough. I heard enough, Hyukkie.” He pouted.
“Silly,” Eunhyuk’s hand that’s supporting his head arm-locked him and squeezed him lightly inside his arms. “Of course, I would never ever complain even if you cry ten times louder than Sora Noona.” He pinches Donghae’s nose.
“Yeah, yeah… So care to tell me what your second wish is?”
“Pass,”
“Hyukkie!”
“What? Can’t I pass?”
“No you can’t.”
“You have to wish first, right? It’s time.” He changes topic and when Donghae look to his wristwatch, he look intently at Eunhyuk, eyeing him like the question and answer portion still isn’t over yet.
He then, fixed himself to the position he always does when the clock strikes 10, he will sit 90 degrees, entwined both of his hands and closes his eyes.
Donghae, as soon as he closes his eyes, Eunhyuk sat up the same as he does and faces Donghae’s close eyes.
Donghae’s lips started to quiver, obviously chanting his wish.
“I wish he could kiss me right here. That would be a daebak if that happened, I know. If you all could hear me, even if the U.F.O’s out there in the outer space, please, just this once, maybe you could hear my one and only wish. Because this will be the last wish I am wishing. I will not be able to wish for it next time because I’m thinking of moving on. Yeah, I think it’s time for a 5 year old boy’s love for his best friend fades. It’s time to stop excusing the U.F.O just to be with him. It’s time to let go of this feelings that is growing and growing every day. It’s not right to feel this way towards his best friend. What if I can’t control it anymore? What if I laid down my cards without thinking? He would be devastated and never will I ever see him again if he wanted me out of his life, then. So, if I can be a Cinderella right now, I don’t need until 12, because it will only take a second for my wish to come true. So, will you grant it, then? Just a tiny pinch second… Just a mili-se-“
And in the blink of an eye, something soft touches his lips.
Donghae then opens his eyes and saw a gummy smile Eunhyuk wears while facing him.
“D-did you… No. Did you…”
“You can take your lucky star tonight, Hae.” He smiled.
“H-Hyukkie… Y-you didn’t…”
“I did, Hae. Now, you can’t leave me anymore just because you finally knew that there’s no U.F.O. I can’t let you leave me, okay? That’s one of the reasons I didn’t tell you the first time we saw the dancing lights in the sky.” Eunhyuk confesses and Donghae felt like his world stops for awhile. His head is still sinking the things Eunhyuk had said to him.
It was surreal. And he hopes he will never wake up because it feels so right.
“C-can you kiss me again, Hyukkie? With my eyes looking at you while leaning to me…”
“You sure?”
“Even brighter than the stars.”
Eunhyuk then leans forward, closing the gap between them and when he’s an inch away from his lips, he smiled teasingly. “You should definitely remember this Hae, ‘cause if not, I’ll kill you.”
“I will, Hyukkie. I will.”
And when their lips touch, the stars shine brightly in the sky and the lights started dancing once again, making the clouds and the moon move to the same beating as their hearts do.
Donghae then mentally thanked the stars for his wish to finally come true. It was more than a thought of a U.F.O to fall in love. It was more than the stars to make him drool in beauty, because it takes only one Hyukkie to make his heart dance and shine at the same time.
"Wait Hae, i have something to ask..."
"Hmm... what is it Hyukkie?"
"Why are you always wishing every 10 in the evening, by the way?"
"That's the time you were born, Hyukkie."
"Oh,"
"So, can you kiss me again?"
"I thought you only ask for a mili-second?"
"Hyukkie! Can't i ask until 12, then?"
"Sure Cinderella."

Fact about the fic: though, the whole story didn't happened in the future(though i hope it would come true! ^__<) it was a part of my childhood memories where i honestly think it was a U.F.O. really. i would always go outside and look up at the sky and watched it dancing around freely...
haha... i think the aliens are real back then... and you never know if they really exist, right? To see is to believe.. ^__^
