Notes: uhm... please don't kill me for this *kneels and begs* they get to be together again right *looks up and pleads*

Jin stood alone at the closet. Dumbfounded. Mind in a haze.

Maru's words still rang in his ears. It sill hung in the air. Dangerous. Poisonous. Deadly.

You're still in love with Kame...

You're still in love with him. I can't be the third wheel forever Jin. I love you, I really do, but I can't wait forever for you to feel the same way. I can't do this anymore...

"Yuuichi, what happened to us?"

-=-=-=-=-=-

"Wait, wait, wait. Let's go over this again." Ueda spat.

They were sitting on Ueda's white couch. Maru had called the guitarist that morning telling him that he needed someone to talk to.

The other didn't mind.

So here they were, at the former leader's apartment at 3:00 in the afternoon.

"Let me get this straight. After the rehearsal last week, Jin dragged you to his apartment and you had sex..." Ueda stopped, enjoying the look of pure embarrassment on Maru's face. The beat boxer cheeks have turned a deep shade of scarlet.

"Then, when you were basking in the afterglow of a great night, you tell him you love him, for the first time, then he slips, 'I love you too, Kame.' Right then. In your face. After sex." He continued, talking like a mother to a toddler, emphasizing every line. Honestly, the story was way over the line.

But when Maru nodded with a face so down it could drag the whole island into the darkest depths of the ocean, the guitarist felt hurt too. Imagine what it could have felt like.

"Maru, that's horrible and downright, I don't know, mean."

The words did not help in lighting up the mood because the beat boxer looked as if he was about to cry at the same time throw a large rock at someone just to let the frustration out.

"Damn. And I wasn't even there! I can't believe I missed it!" he spoke out loud, addressing himself.

Naughty comments = happy mood

"Stop it! Tat-chan, you're totally grossing me out." A little smile has crawled its way on his lips. Ueda just knows what to say to make things better. Thank God for best friends.

"What? I'm trying to lighten things up."

'Obviously. Working. Duh?' A knowing smile has spread on his lips.

"But honestly, Maru, I'm sorry. I just, I don't know what to say. I can't feel for you. I'd probably kill Jin if it was me." His voice became serious.

"I knew it was a mistake being with Jin. Famous. Damn, I feel so stupid. I shouldn't have but I did. All those years of reading books and studying didn't make me any smarter. I've become dull and stupid." The taller stood up and dragged his feet from the couch to the door and back. His hands were making those weird gestures again. The sneering in his voice could make anyone back up on the wall.

"Maru. Stop it."

"When I think about it, I'm with Jin... was with Jin, because, you know... he's just so... Jin." The older kept walking around the room. His hands not stopping in drawing invisible images in the air. Grunts and exasperated sighs were heard in between words.

"Maru. Stop it." Ueda looked at him in annoyance. Honestly, his friend should stop it but it seems that the other was too engrossed with his dilemma to even understand what he was saying.

Not listening. Comments are screened at the moment.

"I know I'm melodramatic, but this is just too much!" Ueda was growing a little impatient. Clearly, this isn't working. He made a mental note to kill Jin upon seeing him.

Amazing how the bouncy, loud and sun-shinny beat boxer was reduced to a frantic, hysterical and hyperventilating broken-hearted guy.

Damn you people who hurt Maru. Don't you know it's hurting me too?

Emotionally. Physically. Mentally.

"I hate him..." Maru continued; oblivious to the efforts of his best friend to calm him. He still paced the room like a jiggly wiggly worm out of his dirty hole.

"I hate him..." The words were spoken out of hurt. He knew it wasn't true. They were empty letters stringed together just to convey the grief - a futile attempt for a rebuttal at the misgiving of the cause of all this.

Ueda was filled with thoughts. Maru had to stop doing this. It won't make the burden any lighter for him anyway. He just had to make what feels right and eventually things would work it out. Hating Jin won't help him make the wound feel better; it won't make the pain go away. He knew that his friends had to sort this thing out otherwise; they'll both end up miserable.

But clearly, the words he was using wasn't enough to clear the beat boxer’s head. He would have tried various things to get the older's attention, like...

Holding the other's shoulder.
Hugging.
Kissing on the forehead. Lips maybe? nah...

Screw all that emotional crap. Slapping works best at these situations.

The palms of Ueda's hand hit Maru's cheek. The milky skin had turned a light shade of pink. It didn't hurt that much but it did bring the beat boxer back to reality.

"Stop sulking and talk to him."

Jin barged in at the band's usual hang-out - dressing room. He turned his head from side to side, looking for Maru. But clearly, he wasn't around. Instead, Kame was there sitting at the couch, a brightly colored magazine on lap.

"Jin, what are you doing here? You're early for today's rehearsal." Kame looked at him intrigued by the early appearance of someone who was clearly not an early bird.

He looked intently at the younger's eyes; Maru's words repeating on his head.

"You're still in love with him..."

"Kame, we need to talk."

Tired sighs hung in the air of the KAT-TUN dressing room as six young men dragged their feet to seat at the nearest vacant seat. They were exhausted from all the practicing they were doing for their next live performance. Each worked hard on perfecting the steps and songs that their energy was drained from them.

"I'm starving!" Kouki growled followed by a grumbling of stomach.

"Hahaha..." Junno's laughter broke loose as his finger pointed at Kouki.

The rapper didn't find it amusing and sent a pillow flying at the tallest member of the group. The soft red cushion hit the acrobat squarely on the face.

"That's enough. Let's just go and eat." Ueda broke the foreseen pillow-fight before it even began. He looked at his bandmates sternly before standing up and pulling Junno up.

No one dared protest at their former leader. Kouki, Kame and Jin stood up and followed the guitarist's lead.

"Hey Yuichi, aren't you coming?" Ueda asked Maru.

The beat boxer was now slumped at the white couch; his arms limp at both side and his head hanging at the headrest. He heaved a deep breathe.

"No. Just bring me something." He closed his eyes and prepared to doze off.

The soft click of the knob was heard and the room grew quiet. Maru turned to a more comfortable position in his seat thinking of dozing off a little before practices resume.

He wasn't even half-way finding a good enough position before the lock clicked open and the door swung slowly.

Footsteps grew closer to the man on the couch. A hand reached out to tap the figure sprawled on the cushions.

"What?!" Maru groaned in protest. Can't this stupid person, whoever he is, see that he was trying to sleep?

"Yu, we need to talk." Jin's voice was soft.

The older snorted, his eyes wide open now and the sleepiness completely gone. He turned his head away from the figure that loomed over him.

"Yu, look at me."

He continued to stare at the plain brown wall, trying to concentrate on ignoring the voice of his ex-lover.

Two hands grabbed Maru's face, causing him to look at the younger man. Before he could swat the hands away, lips crashed on his. He felt a teeth nibble at his lower lip then a tongue lazily trailing after it.

Both of the beat boxer's hand immediately rose to push Jin away. When he managed to do that, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

"What the hell Jin? Do you think kissing would make everything better? What are you taking me for?" Annoyance mixed with a whole lot of emotion enveloped Maru's words.  He stood up and walked far from Jin.

Eyes glared at the young man but he still stood at his spot, his eyes still intent on gazing at Maru. Jin tried to close the distance between them before speaking.

"I'm sorry Maru. I don't know what else to say. I'm not taking you for anything other than you being  Maru. I know I don't make much sense but just hear me out ok." His hands started to move, trying to illustrate his thoughts which words seem to fail to communicate.

"Words are words and what's said is said Jin, you can't take them back." Coldness seethed at every word Maru spoke. It hit the younger like sharp daggers across his body.

"I know Yu, but I don’t' know what to say to make you believe me. Look I may still have left-over feelings for Kame, you're right but that doesn't mean anything." Jin's voice was frantic, trying to reason out and explain his predicament.

"Are you really stupid Jin? It means something when you say it after being with me for the whole night!" He was clearly annoyed and about to snap. He could feel the anger rose in his cheeks as a tint of red surfaced there. He had always been quite short-tempered not to mention really tired at that moment that he can't even try to comprehend the lame excuses the other was presenting him with.

"I talked to Kame yesterday, we talked about us before and he asked me if I ever wanted to get back together, we could. But I turned him down. Yu, I turned him down because I know there's no use trying to go back to a broken relationship I have already gotten over. I could have agreed but I didn't because the three months we have are really important. I don't care if you believe me now but I'm still going to go after you and fight for you until you accept me Yu." As he finished his little speech, the space separating them had grown to mere inches that the last words were already whispered.

Maru turned his head again away from Jin. He couldn't bear to look at the intensity of those eyes. He couldn't give up this easy. Could he?

"I love you Yuichi," Jin broke Maru's line of thought and shattered the older's resolve quite entirely.

The beat boxer's head snapped back at him, his eyes widening a little in surprise. He walked back at the white couch and sat.

"I'm not saying it back." His arms crossed in front of him and a pout formed on his lips. He looked at Jin and gave him his death glare reserved for the younger.

"I don't care." His statement was firm. Jin walked to the couch and kneeled in front of Maru. Their eyes locked at each other, waiting for one to break the tensing silence.

"I hate you." A scowl tried to hide Maru's smile at Jin's action. He amazed himself how easy he could be sometimes. But he didn't care anymore.

Besides, who could deny Jin?

"Do you really hate me Yu?" A smile stretched across Jin's lips. He leaned forward bringing his face in-line with Maru's.

"Noooo. IhatemefornothatingyouandforgivingwhenIshouldbecompletelymadatyouforsayingother
people'snameafersex." His own hands clasped at his mouth at the last words that slipped his mouth. His face and ears had suddenly turned a deep shade of tomato. He really should stop talking in one breathing when he's embarrassed.

"Hahaha." Jin laughed a little at the sight. 'He's really cute when he's shy'

"What are you laughing at?" A smile forming on Maru's own lips at the sound of the younger's laugh.

What? He missed it.

"You. You really look amazingly cute when you're shy." Jin's voice laced with sincerity and happiness.

"Uhm... Yu, is this the part where we make-out ?" The sincerity and happiness was completely hidden in a sly smile at Jin's face.

Maru paused for a good three seconds before saying, "Ya. Sure." just for the sake of suspense.

Jin kissed Maru. Both smiled at the kiss as their tongues trail the familiar yet long-missed path they once travelled.

A clearing of throat broke the two apart. A grinning Ueda with one hand holding a plastic of bento while the other hand on his hips leaned at the doorway.

"So what did I miss?"
