updateness
Jeez...its been so long since I last updated. I really really do intend to do it more, I still read my friends page everyday but then I never update....it doesn't make sense i know. I'm leaving Friday to go home for Spring Break and I am very excited. This semester has been stressing me out very much and it will be nice to be able to breathe easy. Yesterday I had 3 midterms and all of them were in Essay format! Well the first one had 10 multiple choice and the rest was essay. The worst part was the last 2 classes were back to back, so I was pretty much writing from 1:00-4:30 and I thought my hand was going to fall off from all of the writing.
Last night Meredith and I decided to go out to get food because we were hungry and it'll be silly to go food shopping now since we'll both be gone all next week (even though she still continues to make fun of me because when she came to my apartment last year at this time, there wasn't much food, but for the same reason). We went to this bar called something I can't remember right now because we wanted wings and they had them on special tuesday nights...well in order to properly understand...Meredith and I never go anywhere lol we're probably the most boring college students ever. Well i would probably go out more if I was friends with more people here but I'm not and Merideth goes home every weekend. At any rate, we went out and had drinks and stuff and we didn't realize that it was Mardi Gras until like an hour after we got there. We actually celebrated on a drinking holiday, go us! Anyway, her boyfriend dave met up with us there and we drank a little more and then came back.
I had a project due in my directing class last week, and I was a little nervous to get my grade back because I didn't think it was too hot, but I got a 95 which makes me happy. I'm slightly intimidated by my directing professor, but you'll have that. Today when I walked up to get my paper with the grade/comments he was like "They were overall pretty good, some people need to work on their camera work though, it was driving me crazy!" lol then I looked at my comments and they said
" A clever idea and very funny. Let's focus more on your camera work in the next couple of assignments. Try to get the camera more involved in the action and shoot looks we can't easily get from an everday perspective, okay? shoot reactions to the details you are emphasizing with your other angles. This way we can become involved with the character--identify with choices made--as opposed to being an observer."
My thing is....I am not a cinematographer in the least...camera work isn't my thing. I'm a post production person so i'll try. We shall see. Lately i've been having that feeling where i'm very hard on myself wondering if I belong in this major or not. I don't know, i think everyone probably goes through that, but its especially worse when you're in an artsy type major because your success and job depends on you belonging. It's not enough to just like it, you have to be good at it.
Anyway, that's it for now, I still have a lot that I would like to say but I don't feel like it right now and you can't make me.
oh wait...one more thing. So 3 students have died in like the past month here, so I know i don't update very often, but if you don't hear from me for a really long time.....be worried. LOL
