Like Some Knd Of Homecoming - Part One

He blew into the room all B.O. and attitude, three weeks without a shower, and a lifetime of being mistreated. At that moment it didn't matter what they thought or said or did. For that moment he was invulnerable and perfect. He could sense the feeling trying to slide and wrapped his mental fist tight around it, trapping it a little longer in his heart. It was too good to be beyond their reach, if only for a little while. Heads turned and glances were exchanged. Eyebrows arched and snarky little smiles were all too common. And not one person, not a single one of them, wasn't ready to laugh him off the stage. But that wasn't going to happen this time. This time he was ready for them. This time he had come prepared. And when he spoke the smiles faded and silence grabbed their throats.

(I know no ones reading this thing anymore, but fuck it.)
