In a span of a week, I covered 4 cities. The after taste of freshly baked almond cookies of Macau briskly overwhelmed by the Kun Ming Lamb hotpot, hooves included. Photographic memory does little but confuse my traveling mind. Imagery of the Macau Tai San Pa Lover's Lane and the comfy granite "daybed" vivid as I am packed off, in a plane, in a car, in a traffic jam. Sometimes living in a blur of events forces one to seek solace in memory, as if the reversal of time is a welcome respite.
I am thinking of Christmas.
I am thinking of the steamed milk pudding.
I am anywhere but in this hotel in Kun Ming.
Tarry.
Between Balconies
Suspend
if time does such a thing
A view into the sky
Echoes of unhurried feet
A mate quiet, aside
Free
A gaze locked into
the silence of nowhere
Passing kites, sea gulls flew
to where I cease to be
Clueless
on how time had gone
or where my mind had flown
Only a slice of baby blue
between balconies
