TV Talk

Seems like there's a lot of television stuff going on in the last few days.

Such as the whole debacle with NBC. Like I didn't see THIS coming when it first began. Putting Jay Leno at a 10pm slot because NBC was too lazy to try and find a well-written drama/comedy/reality show was a recipe for disaster. Now they've screwed EVERYONE up and I so don't blame Conan O'Brien for refusing to agree with being pushed back to midnight after earning his seat on "The Tonight Show."

Okay, I will confess - I don't watch ANY late night television anymore. But I do love Conan. I would marry the guy because he's just so fucking funny!

That being said, I hope he finds a place on FOX late night. It would be an interesting move, and it's sure to shake things up.

Another mover and shaker - Simon Cowell announcing this was his last year on "American Idol." This is the beginning of the end of this show, everyone. There has been waaay too much shake up that may bring in viewers in the beginning (e.g. I'm watching the premiere this week), but once Ellen Degeneres has shown her face (and I DO love Ellen), I just don't think there will be much more keeping viewers. Last season was retarded. It's like the "The Real World" - it ain't so real anymore. You can only have so many Kelly Clarksons, Carrie Underwoods, and Chris Daughtrys before it just starts sounding all the same again.

The reason I started watching "American Idol" in 2003 was because of soundbites from the first episode and hearing Simon's remarks to the horrific singers they STILL let on this show. He told it like it was, no matter how much of an asshole he might be. He said what everyone was thinking. He really did put the show on the board - everything came afterwards (the winners, the crazies, Paula's crazies, Ryan Seacrest).

On a positive note - CHUCK! I have to catch up to it, though. I'm WAY behind. My sister got into it so I have to wait for her to sit down with me and watch it.

On a somewhat positive note - LOST is coming back in a few weeks! It's the last season, which is the bummer, but I'm hoping it means they're REALLY gonna turn it up starting with the season premiere.
