Actress Mary-Kate Olsen will not speak to investigators about Heath Ledger's death unless she is granted immunity from prosecution.

An official said the 22-year-old wants the assurance before speaking to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Olsen was the first person contacted by the masseuse who discovered Ledger's body. Her lawyer said she has told the authorities all she knows.

Ledger was found dead at his home in January after an accidental overdose.

Federal investigators want to question Olsen about how Ledger obtained two powerful painkillers that contributed to his death.

Olsen's lawyer, Michael C Miller, added that she "does not know the source of the drugs Mr Ledger consumed".

Y'know, just a few days ago I would've read this and thought, "Damn... you know she's guilty;" but thanks to a lil' video pointed out to me by Mr. jblaque I can honestly say all that this means is that Ms. Olsen has a very good lawyer.
It's a tad over 45 minutes but it should convince you beyond any doubt that you should never, ever speak to the police. Succinctly put in a comment to jblaque's post: "Remember everyone, the police are not there to clear you."

Man, if there were ever such a thing as "artistic porn," Le Chagrin has found out what it is, and manages to find it all ovah tha place. I love that blog. It's (obviously) very not work safe.

I forgot to include this lil' story from my entry on the 2nd... so there's this Caribbean food spot a few blocks from my house that I like to frequent. Family owned and operated. They've been around for a while and over the past year have seen a real boom in business. So much so that they had to hire more people, outside of family, to cover all the shifts and accommodate all the customers' orders. One of these new employees, 1 out of about 5, is Latino. Mexican if my guessing is any good.

So while I'm chillin', waiting for my food, this guy comes in, orders something, and as the Latin guy goes to prepare his food the "gentleman" starts a conversation with the back of my head...

He: Pfft, I wonder... is this an "International" restaurant or a Caribbean restaurant?
I: ... international.
He: Oh... must be. Y'know, I'd have expected this kinda thing if I'd gone to a Mexican place, but not here. Everyone must want a piece of the Caribbean food.

I imagine that part at the end there was his oh-so-witty rewrite of "everyone wants a piece of the pie." I was not amused. Soooo not amused. I restrained myself from telling him where he could shove his bullshit out of respect for the proprietors of the establishment. I really do frequent the place often and I'm not tryin' to cost them any business... I really do wish I'd have caught that motherfucker outside talking shit. Don't be fooled by my write up, either, that man did not speak English so goddamn well himself! His accent was clearly West Indian! If he had any trouble ordering it was only because there were two participants in that convo with heavy accents. I know this, 'cause when the Latin guy takes my orders I have zero issues. Pompous asshole... is Barack's magical presidency suppose to fix this shit? People keep tryin' to tell me it will help somehow, but I cannot see it at this point. Not with this internal shit.
