This week, just be friends. We know, we hate that "friendship" B.S. as much as the next bitter, jaded single person. But let's face it: many a beautiful relationship has blossomed from the seeds of a beautiful friendship. And even if they don't for you, at least you'll have a good friend to complain to about how you're not getting any.
-Seeing Stars for the Week of June 9th

I've never been one to seek the advice of "the stars," but this... actually makes contextual sense to my life right now. Funny.

I'm taking a non-voluntary break from the gym this week. It was only suppose to be until, like, Wednesday, but backorder/shipping/item not available issues abounded.

I don't know when they're actually arriving. :(   I came to the conclusion that my old pair had been worn out by aching shins and knees last week. Back to "the track" next week.

My hat should be arriving... today. I think. Y'know what amused me? If you buy something from Alternative Apparel and give them your email addy they will use it to search MySpace and add you as a friend. I found it amazingly savvy and creepy and the same time.

:\

Mmmmm... yea. I know it's pretty narcissistic to quote yourself, but here it goes:I had previously avoided listening to this track (unlike “Black President” and “Hero”) because by the title I could tell what direction it would take, and that would lead me to assume the direction the album would take, and I’d immediately do a 180 and wish the album never saw the light of day. That time has come. He was so close…
That's the comment I left on one of my favorite Hip-Hop blogs. When the concept of the album Nigger came up I was anxious but felt an overall sense of mixed curiosity and hope. As soon as I'd heard the title of Be A Nigger Too I knew NaS had fucked up and gone down the "we is now colorblind/everyone's a nigger sometimes" road... which is just the epitome of wrong. I could come up with a number of reasons why, I think, but the simplest is the most poignant:

Unless you are actually black I do not believe you will ever have the unfortunate opportunity to be called a nigger by a 3-year-old, and therefore you can never actually "be a nigger too."
