I think I need to have a few days out of London. I realised about a month ago that - aside from weekends to comics-related events in other cities, where I end up in a bar not seeing anything else of the city - I haven't had a proper trip outside of London since I went to Aviemore and Edinburgh
last year. Since I realised this, I've had this need to visit quirky shops and green fields, to look at calming waters and eat cream teas. Reading about Sarah's
idyllically twee trip to Sussex (note that here at Mondo Towers, "twee" is not usually a bad thing), and looking at
Anne's photos of her
Great British Holiday last week has only increased this need. The only trouble is that I'm not sure where would be good to go!
I'm reduced to relying on public transport because I can't drive, so I don't want to get stranded somewhere too rural if it decides to piss down the entire time. If someone with a car wants to come too, that could open up a lot of options, and anyway I'd rather not go on my own if there's someone else who fancies it as well.
Any suggestions would be lovely.
