It’s official
I am a pensioner. A working pensioner, but collecting nonetheless. I got the email acceptance Saturday, and will start receiving my SS benefits next month. I couldn’t imagine this fifty-three years ago when I started to contribute to ‘the system.’ This will take a little pressure off the day-to-day living expenses of my lavish lifestyle…

Elsewhere- I planted the peas, finally, Saturday. Then we took a trip up to the Home Depot and bought some needed garden supplies. And we picked up some paint swatches to decide what color to do the living room over with. Time to start fixing up our retirement home.
I also ordered a few things online for the garden, things that weren’t in the local stores. These were fencing items for trellising the peas and netting the blueberries.
*snicker* There was a guy in the garden shop at HD with a t-shirt printed with “I may be old but I got to see all the cool bands.” We got talking about this (damn, had he seen a LOT of bands) and suddenly our wives both drifted off in different directions. FWIW, He’s the only other person I’ve talked to who had seen Mott The Hoople.
