Moving ahead

I finally did a little physical work around the place today, other than moving small things about or just walking. I stayed within the doctor’s mandated weight restrictions, mostly, and mowed the lawn (first time in a month). I bought a new push mower this Spring, self-propelled, and by adjusting the variable drive I had a leisurely time of walking along while the mower did most of the work. It has the large rear wheels, too, and I was cautious enough to use leverage and gravity to take advantage of slopes to make turning and such a breeze.

I’ve done a little garden clearing, nothing strenuous, as well as picking up debris (branches/sticks) out back. I’m champing at the bit to do some ‘real’ yard work again, and have ordered a small engine tachometer and tang tool to get my tiller running up to snuff. The chain saw did well on the fallen tree I had to remove, and I look forward to bucking and splitting its remnants along with other logs here... all in time (the splitter is quite heavy).

I’ve had a lot of down time on my hands, some of it time to think, and found this cartoon quite appropriate

:D
