Critics' opinions are pretty useless in general, aren't they? I suppose they can be useful if you know, from experience, that you have the same taste as a certain critic, but even then it's a gamble.
Re: the book -- is there a union catalog for US libraries you could check?
I didn't see the pun in this until I typed the entry :D
On a third search, the book is actually on Amazon as rock Tibetan Mastiff. Too pricey for a looksee. I'm not motivated enough to plague our reference department for an ILL copy of this (a cursory look at their resources didn't turn it up immediately anyway). However, there is another totally unrelated book in the system entitled "The Tibetan mastiff : legendary guardian of the Himalayas" so I guess that was the purpose of this breed being used (I actually had wondered that).
WOW and WTF this book is the Price of a Tibetan Puppy w/papers, But I Looked around Hard to find, But maybe around for 'X-Max'(for the Higher Price's) or after X-Mas 75% off..
Absolutely outrageous, to me... I don't think it has a large number of copies printed so they feel they can ask such a high price. Maybe if the movie was more well-received they would have offered a cheap, translated version.
Ohh, right, that's out now, isn't it? ^_^ I think I might've mentioned it early this year sometime.
Maybe I'll see if this can be tomorrow night's big film. ^_^ Following this series' Doctor Who finale, needless to say, which was shaping up to be a positive corker.
BTW, even if you're not hugely into ponies, S7E13 "The Perfect Pear" was absolutely wonderful, with quite a surprising voice guest in particular, and just top-notch writing. I was crying toward the end. ^_^
I wondered where I saw a reference to this movie. Released via Lionsgate, I thought maybe as a trailer on Norm of the North or even Beyond Beyond.
