i haven't posted a lot recently. i don't have a lot of spare time and i don't really want to share all the details of student teaching in a possibly public place. things are going pretty well. i think we have the organizational stuff under control and it doesn't look like a tornado just went through her classroom. the teaching part is going well. my students seem to like me and a few who came in for extra help did better than usual on their last exam. my supervisor came to observe today and we were able to discuss some of the issues that i am having with my cooperating teacher. mainly, she thinks she's right all the time. i'm feeling a little better about that, but a lot of it is out of my control. the consensus is: she can be difficult to work with. luckily, i think she likes me. i "appear" interested in what she says, agree with her on occasion, and provide an ear for her to complain and criticize pretty much everyone and everything in the world. my guess is that problems at home are being manifested/dealt with through frustrations at school.

other than that, i'm excited for possibly spending sunday & casmir pulaski day in chicago with kevin. he has an interview downtown on monday and they are putting him(us) up at the palmer house sunday night.
