Friday!
After an overly long day at work -- time just seemed to drag -- I drove to Orrick, MO which is about 30 minutes outside of Liberty, MO to pick up my friend Chuck for the epic weekend we had planned. We talked the entire way back. When we got back to the apartment,
pan2dapan was just finishing up cleaning, so we decided to just hang out until she was done. Instead, I got a lovely phone call from
absolutehymn007 and we talked for almost a half an hour. It was nice. We said our goodbyes so we could each go, respectfully, to dinner. Chuck,
pan2dapan, and I went to McAlister's Deli and shared a massive thing of nachos. It was epic.
After that, we headed to the North Shoppes where I picked up my SOUL by Ludacris noise-cancelling headphones from Best Buy. (Imma gonna say right now, these are 1: far better than the Studio Beats by Dr. Dre I own and 2: OMG excellent sound.) We wandered around Target and decided while we were walking around that we wanted to do a semi-LARPing at the Renaissance Festival. We found a lot of our outfits on the clearance racks, which was fantabulous. I also bought
this sweater. If you know anything about me, you'll know I absolutely had to have this. We were going to head to Starbucks after this, but I started feeling super nauseous and headed home.
There, we each changed into pajamas and got on our respective laptops to browse Tumblr simultaneously. It was hilarious. I still wasn't feeling the best, so I bowed out for the evening and went to bed.
Saturday!
We all woke up around 7:30am.
pan2dapan had to work at 9am, so we decided to go have donuts at this epic place near the library. We each got a glazed and Boston Cream then went to Starbucks -- the places are across the street from each other -- where Chuck got a Chai tea latte,
pan2dapan got a Passion tea lemonade, and I got a Black tea lemonade. For a coffee shop, I certainly get a tea of some sort 95% of the time.
After dropping
pan2dapan off at the library for her shift, Chuck and I headed back to Target so I could pick up a few things I forgot the night before (small hair ties for tiny braids, a new shower head, bobby pins) and to kill time before the nail place I go to now opens. Since I had finished my breakfast Starbucks, I used my treat receipt at Target and just got a straight up iced black tea.
I stopped by the PO Box and I had a package! It was my
iPod skin and Chuck's screen protector for her new phone. Garth Algar the iPod classic, is now protectd. By the time we finished there, said nail place was open and I got a fill plus a color change. Unfortunately, I didn't get them filed down far enough and I'm not exactly sure what color I got. (Forgot to check.) I think I'm going back today after I take
pan2dapan to work and get a color change and them filed down.
Chuck and I also went to Sally's Beauty Supply where I bought FingerPaints' "Copper Elements" and some things so that we could streak Chuck's hair purple. We also picked up some canned goods from the nearby Hy-Vee so that we could get the $5 off of Renaissance Festival tickets with the donation of non-perishables.
Cue a good 30 minutes of talking under a shaded tree near the library while we waited for
pan2dapan to get off work. We mainly talked about friends -- hers, primarily -- because she spends some time with them on a regular basis and there are always antics.
When
pan2dapan got off, we headed back home where we began to get ready for the Renaissance Festival. I had to install my new shower head first. (It's glorious, FYI.) We were running a little late, but left the apartment only a few minutes after the time I wanted to head out. Unfortunately, this is where the rest of the day kind of takes a turn towards the bad.
I fell down the stairs. Concrete stairs to be precise. It wasn't too many and I don't quite remember anything except falling on my face. Nothing broken, but I scratched up my chin and nose a bit and my knee has some serious road rash. It's also terribly difficult to bend my knee without some pain. I'm pretty sure I jarred my whole entire body with that one. Instead of packing it up and heading back inside, I soldiered on and we went to the Renaissance Festival (knee heavily bandaged, as it were) and met up with our friend, Lady, and one of her brothers. We wandered about. We didn't actually see any of the Highland Games and hardly anyone ins kilts. I was a bit disappointed. I ate really damn good chicken, rode and elephant, and tried on a rather flattering bodice (which I did not buy then, but I probably will when we go again.) I know you want to see
pictures!!! After the festival, we headed into Kansas City where I bought
this Vera Bradley bag. Barnes & Noble was particularly good to me Saturday night as I also managed to pick up volume 2 of Drifters and volume 1 of Sengoku Basara. There are some damn nice color pages of Date. (Surprisingly, I don't like Sanada Yukimura much in the series; Date Masamune is my fave.)
Lady, Chuck,
pan2dapan, and I had Stone Canyon Pizza for dinner. We shared chicken nachos and a BBQ pizza. Lady and
pan2dapan had Yogurtini for dessert, but by that time I was downright exhausted from the driving and my knee was throbbing like a bitch.
I crashed as soon as I got home.
Sunday!
We had brunch at Cracker Barrel, picked up things for taco salad at Walmart, and went home. Chuck made a chocolate chai pie and holy fuck was it goddamn delicious.
pan2dapan streaked Chuck's hair purple while I fixed dinner. We watched "The Emperor's New Groove" while we ate. Afterwards, we drove Chuck home. I showered and passed out when we got back home.

The end. I'm tired now.
