An offering for the tempest...

Jun 22, 2011 22:30

A tremor beneath my feet
I trembled in amazement
As you drew yourself to full height
You gaze transfixes
And my heart skips a beat
The winds, they howled into my ears
Their silver-tongued whispers leaking into my brain
As my eyes stared skyward.

I pleaded for divine intervention
Ah, alas, cyclone's embrace tore at me
Ripped my roots from the dirt
And your call
Wrenched me away

Cherry kisses along my cheeks
Smoulder and burn hot, dear girl
Take from me what you will
Feast upon this woman's flesh and blood
Devour her words with your tongue
For her heart is hers no longer
It thrives in the gale's embrace

Outside of the world of this swirling vortex
Life for her
Holds little meaning.
