I'd forgotten how much I love Kansas thunderstorms... I can count on one hand the t-storms we experienced in VA this school year and, aside from the eerie lightning in the fog one evening, none of them were very spectacular. Well, I've been back in Kansas for one day and we've already had one tornado watch, one severe-thunderstorm warning, and I think lightning almost struck my house. It was exciting. Sheets of rain pouring down outside my window, the variety of the thunder - from sharp, quick, house-shaking booms to the sharp boom at the beginning dragging out into an extended crack that fades away - and the lightning that flits across the sky, highlighting the swishing of the trees against the varied cloudscape. Ah yes, very nice.
That, however, is the most exciting thing that has happened to me yet this summer. Today I am going to see Kingdom of Heaven though! I'll let you know how that is...
