I know, right?! :D I tried with the epilogue. I'm such a happy ending girl that this killed me to write. The story had never wanted a happy ending though, which is why it languored in writer purgatory for so long.

Honestly, I like this ending very much, the indirection of seeing it through Elijah and Orlando's eyes, the contrast with their relationship, the less with a bang than a whimper, it all works beautifully for me. In an angsty way of course. Very fine writing.

In the end, I think it's the best ending for this story. I love my epilogue and debated about either scraping this chapter or making it 8/8, but this won out. It's the end the story needed.
