Equally different

Mother: "All my children are the same to me. They're all equal and will always be treated equally."

Thinker: "But every child is different. The key to understanding a child is unique just to that child, even if it is the same mother and father."

Mother: "No, there's no difference between my children. I cannot distinguish between them based on their strengths and weaknesses. That would make me a biased mother."

Hmmm.. And that is where I think parents go wrong. And that is where I think governments go wrong too.
