PT's Cylon-osity is clearly rubbing off on me. This one's been a very long time in the making, since before the finale.

I'm not going to tell you how brilliant this is. I can't even find the right words to convey how much I like this. I honestly can't.
The theme is probably my favorite part. You took our language, the language of fandom, and made it a central theme for a fic. How freaking awesome is that? You took our words, the words of us and put that into Supernatural and into an amazingly emotional and insightful plot.
There were a million lines in here that broke my heart and made me feel just amazed, but these are my favorites:
Some amalgam, like they had their own secret name that meant the two of them together...Samandean.
All these people who weren't Sam. Sam who belonged to him. Sam who was inside him, of him, for him.
Far from him.
You are an amazing fic writer. This is a defining piece of work, the way you've captured Dean and just made him Dean.
I have this like half formed image of Dean all quiet and curled up in the back of the Impala from DT, silent and quiet and sad and this is him. This fic *is* him.
I still can't tell you how much this fic is worth and how amazing it is. You've kind of put me in awe. I know this sounds like overly obsessive and weird, but the theme is just what breaks this. You didn't just take this theme, you took this theme. You could have written about the mechanics of words and made it into a fic, but the way you did it, how well you did it is what sets this apart.
So basically the theme and the plot and the way you wrote this are so awesome that I can't even tell you how good this is.
This is one of my top 25 SPN fics. Of all time. Seriously, that good.

Okay, I'll be super-lame and confess that this comment is one of the ones I printed out and brought to therapy like an emo loser LOL to talk about how if I never do anything else in my life with my creative writing besides fanfiction, I can die happy with the knowledge that I used an ability well. Because why would I ever want to do ANYTHING ELSE when I get to read a reaction like this? Pro-fic writers don't get this. They don't all, regularly, get to know that they've touched somebody. That what they wrote meant something to someone.

I've said this a few times regarding this fic - it's a love letter to Dean, a love letter to the Sam&Dean relationship (however one chooses to interpret it... :) ), a love letter to New York City and a love letter to language. I ♥ language like madness and from the first time I learned what the parts of speech were, I was sort of amazed that there are only eight. And it was so important to me w/this fic that I use not only words that were the given part of speech but get to the *essence* of that part. Like what it *does* and *means* in terms of communication. So...I just LOVE YOU for picking up on it and loving it. As soon as I discovered that the thing was structured on those eight parts, I really wanted to do it right and... have people GET it. You got it, baby. Wow.
*FLAILS and tacklehugs you to the ground* Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!

You're so NOT a loser, and you used that ability VERY well. :)

This totally comes through. Dean is so lost and lonely it's almost just a comfort that you put him in a place where he can get lost without really losing touch. This story just makes complete sense.
Dean is out traveling the road and going around the rural country, he actually has to find people to get away.
It just really clicked with me that Dean needed the monotonous press and drone of bodies and life to lose himself and to forget without actually doing either of those things.
I ♥ language like madness
Dude I can totally tell.
I really wanted to do it right and... have people GET it.
Oh that so came through. I mean I just don't even know how to comunicate how awesome this. We, the fangirls, spend every day of our lives communicating via the written language and to take that whole essence that whole thing and make it in to a fic is like taking and writing about our cultural heritage.
It's like, we're a community that doesn't have much (if any) of a history. We have no population or city, we don't have much tying us into this reality. We have three things, we have fandom, language and each other. Everyday we build bridges and meet new people via how we write and how we communicate.
Mona, this isn't just a love letter to language, it's a love letter to fandom, it's a love letter to our community and our history and to who we are.
