Oh, what a week or more we've had at school! T is pretty aggressive, and we have to put her in the quiet area to protect everyone. Thankfully she loves the wheelchair, so when she does start pinching, scratching, hitting, biting, grabbing hair, kicking, etc, we can bring it to her, she'll sit, and we can take her back there. Not quite as simple as it sounds, tho, as she still tries to kick, bite, etc while we're pushing her, and she sticks her feet out to block us, but still. We do get her there, and all is safe.

We're having specialists come in to help us. Dr G is a psychologist who specializes in autism and works in several school districts in the Willamette Valley. R is the autism specialist for our school dist, and S is her assistant. We had 4:1 with T Mon, Tue and Wed, as we're trying to get her to realize that her behavior is not acceptable, and she will follow her schedule. Breaking bad habits is what it amounts to, and it's not easy. Her parents are fully supportive of what we're doing, and are trying some of the same techniques at home. Trouble is, we're coming up on a 9 day break (conferences and Thanksgiving), then a couple weeks before Christmas break, so we're going to lose some ground, but at least we will have established a base.

My guy has been bouncing off the walls lately, too. Literally. He'll run across the room, bounce off the wall, then turn to go the next direction. We have to chase him, which he loves, as it's too close to the exit. He has gone out, and got to the parking lot. NOT good! Today, one of our specialists came in and taught me some techniques. She demonstrated, and it certainly worked today! He was calm for a whole hour! Amazing.

I love our weather. It's raining and blowing. Yes. I do love it. I'm going to be going out and walking in just a bit. Very good walking weather.

Friday, I get to go to the airport and pick up Steph! She's going to be here, with me, until Tues! I won't be here Sat or Sun, and have to work Mon and Tues, but I'll be getting hugs much more often than I usually do when she's in CA. And, Jeff called, and he said he'll be here Tues night! WA-HOO! How long has it been since I've had more than one of my kids with me at the same time? Too long. This will be a good week.

I'm spending Wed-Sunday with my mom. I know at least one brother will bring Thanksgiving dinner over, but I wouldn't be surprised if all of my sibs bring something. No complaints.

Mom is still able to get up to her chair for much of the day, but she's getting weaker. I notice it mostly when I transfer her from one place to another, and when she stays in bed til 11 or so instead of getting up by 9. No idea how long we'll have here--2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months...or more.

Wow--just had a big gust of wind. I think I'm going to put on my shoes and go outside!
