"Billionaire," Tony added before switching over. Because he was an awesome friend. HE'LL OFFER YOU A JOB NEXT. JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.
"Tony, tell me you're watching the news," Rhodey said rather than the usual 'hello'.
Typing a few quick commands into the computer, Tony brought up CNN to see what was going on now. "Hello to you too, Rhodey. How's school?"
There was a sigh on the other end of the phone at that. "Just watch."
The ticker on the bottom of the screen demanded to know where was Iron Man before a clip was played, possibly for the fifth time so far:
I want Iron Man here and I want him now, a distressingly familiar redhead criminal shouted from what looked like Times Square. Wasn't he supposed to be in jail? And, you know, not still glowing. You hear me, Iron Man? And if Iron Man doesn't show, then I'll turn this entire city into a pile of smoking ash.
"...crap."
"Exactly," Rhodey replied. "You might want to get here now before he tears things apart, man."
Tony sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Yeah, on my way," he muttered, clicking back over to Ben. "Hey! Ben. Email me plans for the visit, okay? I have to do... something real quick."
"It was actually an outfit, but I'm thinking the technology wasn't stable enough for him to actually use." Thinking. Knowing. Possibly planning to hurt Obidiah Stane.
"Probably," Tony replied with a sigh. "The tech was something my dad had been working on and never finished because of the danger involved in it. Looks like he was right to abandon the research. How some two-bit criminal got his hands on it..."
