k GOOD! I'm really glad that it isn't too far, I would have missed hanging with ya.
I'm not too sure what is going to go on with the whole moving to CT thing yet because GCC is all like, well you can transfer in like 2-3 years...umm...NO. I might just decide, like in the next month, if I will move down there. If it is a yes then I won't start college now, I will work for a while - maybe a half a year or a year and then move down with my cousins. I'll just have to wait and see how my meeting goes with the head of the art department first.
Here's what I would reccomend. Do one year at GCC. Then go to CT and start at a local community college. GCC wants you to transfer after 2 years (not 3, I dunno what that is about, comm.college is 2 years) because a lot of community college credits dont transfer to Colleges and Universities, so you risk losing 1/2 years and a lot of money. BUT if you talk to the local community college you could probably do your second year there and they would let your first year credits count toward a degree, so long as you major in the same thing. So then do one year of comm.college in CT and transfer to a university, college, whatever.
Honestly Jasmin, I don't think taking a year off is in your best interest. There are some people thats good for, but for you, I think its better to do the school part now and at least get your associates degree before worring about working to save for college.
That sounds - Awesome! Thanks for the advice, I didn't even think of that (obviously...) I don't know what they were getting at with 3 years either...I was like "Whut?" Anyway, That does sound like it would work out pretty well, plus the CT community college that I would go to give me a partial scholarship if I join their choir!!! Isn't that flippin' sweet? After that I would probably transfer to somewhere in/near Boston.
I don't think it is either, but I didn't want to end up paying for classes that I would end up not even getting credits for...cause that would be ridiculous of me. I know it would be in my best interest, personally, to go to college, but I just don't know if the whole transferring to CT thing will work out. I just can't think about the future like that. I have a year, I'm good.
I know! What am I doing?! Actually I was up till like 5 yesterday. I'll put it this way, I was up so late my dad left for work before I went to sleep...
whoa! Seriously? That's a great oppertunity. It's good you're already in contact with them. I would keep that communication up throughout the year. Yeah, My mom wants me to go to school in Boston too. So I'm looking now. But we're going up to Toronto to look at TU soon... I just don't know what I want to do. I can't believe its almost time to start applying...
True! Which is why I think its important to make sure you are working to a degree at whatever community college you're at that way you get the degree even if some of your credits don't transfer. Right, that's another advantage. GCC buys you time to look at your options.
I understand...I've been staying up until like 6:30 am a lot of days...but I had to wake up at 9 this morning so I didn't think it was too smart if I did that again. Too bad my appointment feel through because the lady was having kid problems, but it's understandable. *We are bad, bad girls though*
It is!!! I was really happy when I found that out! It's pretty cool that they would do that. I am definitely going to keep in contact with that college. Oh yeah I remember we talked about that on the ride to Canobie Lake Park. CANADA?! Cool. You always wanted to live in Canada right? Well that will be nice to go and check out. Yeah that must be kind of well, strange. Do you ever still feel like you just graduated from HS a little while ago?
Definitely, definitely. That's a very good point. And GCC really does buy me some time to think about my options and work things out.
