Supernatural - Jump the Shark

Most of my friends and relatives know I am a huge fan of this series. I save the episode so that I can watch it uninterrupted, without commercials, and usually (lately) alone. So:

I had to look up this phrase, Jump the Shark, because sometimes I don't get tuned into the latest slang and jargon. In tv usage, it apparently means that a particular episode of the series is pivotal in reducing  viewers'  enthusiasm for the series. Example was given: "[Series] jumped the shark after they got married." Once I found out the meaning, I could see the relationship the phrase had to the episode:

Quite frankly it was the first episode of the series I am completely unenthusiastic about.

It was a relief at the end of the episode to find out that this partiular relative won't be coming back. Aside from that, though, the only good thing throughout the episode was Sam shining through in accepting Adam as a brother. Dean was portrayed as far whinier than he should have been, although (funny thing about that) he WAS right about the situation being a trap. But gee whiz, John Winchester was a rolling stone - I was actually surprised that the female hunter introduced awhile ago didn't turn out to be John's daughter. Brief: Grow up, Dean.

Did it throw me off watching? Not hardly. I am hoping that, having thrown this episode to the audience as  "what is the worst episode we could drag you through," they will get back to the Sturm und Drang (read: apocalyptic stuff) that has been so entertaining (albeit developing slowly). But it definitely is NOT an episode I would use to persuade someone to watch the series.

OK, guys, let's get back to (ab)normal now, Huh?
