An update on Mikey's surgery...
Well, we took Mikey to the surgeon today. He re-examined Mikey and found that Mikey's hernia is also on the right side of his groin. More specifically, the hernia has extended into his scrotum on both sides with the left side being more visible. Dr. Garg told us that Mikey was probably born like that and that surgery is the only course of action. The surgery has been scheduled for May 5, 2005 at 7:30 am. Since Mikey will need to fast beforehand, the surgery is scheduled early in the morning. I was hoping that the surgery could've been done within the next week, but the hospital that our HMO is contracted with only had May 5 as the earliest date available. Mikey will have to go back to Dr. Garg on April 29 at 10:30 am for the pre-op, but Big David can handle it. I'll be on my way to Portland, OR for my cousin's wedding.
Anyway, I'm feeling a little better than I was earlier. Dr. Garg is very nice and made Mikey, and myself, feel at ease. Mikey's none too pleased with all of the doctors appointments, though. Poor liitle guy. :(
