Supernatural, Merlin and The Walking Dead

+ Well, damn. I think I'm done with Supernatural. But wow, the disrespect and absolute disregard towards both the fans and the characters’ characterizations as a whole is so beyond infuriating that I can’t even be mad anymore.
I’m just really, really disappointed.
It’s mainly these two things from the newest spoiler article:

“I’ll spoil this right now for you - he does start the season as both a wrathful and vengeful god,” Collins says. “But he’s also righteous, in his own mind. He thinks that he’s doing the right thing.”

Don’t hold your breath for Castiel to make good on that promise [to save Sam after breaking his wall], though. “No, he wants Sam to suffer for a while,” Collins says. “Sam’s basically f***ed.”

Neither of those things are what Castiel is. They’re traits of God/soul-crazy/awfully-written!Castiel. Castiel is loyal, logical, trusting, forgiving, and willing to put his entire being on the line for the safety of BOTH of the Winchesters. He’s become a Winchester himself, having learned how to act human from Dean and Sam, and from what he’s learned, he would never do either of these things. Yes, the ‘crazy on the souls’ thing makes these two spoilers somewhat sensible, but the whole ‘crazy on the souls’ thing is ABSOLUTELY FUCKING STUPID in the first place and makes no sense, so as a whole, the Godstiel arc is an awful, character-ruining piece of tripe.
I’m disappointed because it means, in addition to all the other spoilers we’ve been seeing and hearing, like Death coming on set and possibly Mark Pelligrino, Dean and Sam aren’t going to forgive Cas or treat him like the friend he’s been to them for over three years. From what we’ve seen and can piece together from spoilers, Dean and Sam are going to see him as nothing but a monster, and they’re going to kill him, and then they’re going to move on without so much as a blink. That is SO ENTIRELY AGAINST EVERYTHING ALL OF THESE CHARACTERS ARE and I am so sick of it. The writers have been doing everything in their power to move on from the Heaven/Castiel arcs because they want to go “back to basics,” and to do that, they’re tossing out everything that makes the boys who they are, including their fierce loyalty to family, because apparently, Castiel isn’t family to anyone except when the writers want Dean to toss that line out and paint him the victim.
I’m disappointed because the characters I love (Dean AND Sam AND Castiel) are being used like plot tokens instead of being treated like actual fucking characters.
I’m disappointed because I’ve watched all six seasons of this show and come to understand these characters so well only to see them turned into completely different people depending on the current episode’s plot and what the writers want or need them to do and say.
And I’m disappointed because this show is going down the tubes, not because of my attachment to one character and how he’s been mutilated and ruined for the sake of ‘plot’, but because of my attachment to everything about this show, and how it’s been disregarded so blatantly.
That’s why I’m fucking disappointed.

I'm trying really hard to not be excited about this, mostly because for me season 3 was really terrible (the only decent things were the first two episode, the eighth episode, Merlin, Morgana and Gwaine - and Sir Leon, this damn man has stolen my heart), but the trailer made me remember why I loved this show so much, and even if only God knows how much I don't care and I don't want to see the Arthur/Gwen/Lancelot triangle (at least the Arthur/Gwen part), now I'm more interested in watching the season.
Primarily, because they made me hope a little that we can see some bonding between Arthur and Merlin (wich was pratically inexistent in season 3 - and thank goodness that the show is calling 'Merlin' and the most important relationship should be that one), and I know that I shouldn't be so excited about hurt!Merlin, but I am. Then because I always love me some Morgana 'Badass' Pendragon and I want to see how they'll handle all the knights.
I'm just hoping that at least they will not ruin the friendship between Gwaine and Merlin.
