It's Sunday -- so that means it's time for Sunday Night Art Chat in Station 8!

TONIGHT -- 7pm EDT to 11pm EDT
Many thanks to
gorebash for letting us meet there. The art chat was originally part of the SciFiFantasyHorrorSpace_ArtShows Yahoo group but due to technical difficulties, we lost our original chat room and we had a hard time finding a place where everyone could meet. Luckily, Station 8 makes a great venue and we've really enjoyed being able to meet up again. We discuss current and upcoming art shows, conventions, what's selling and what's not.
I just got back from the Huffhines Art Trails in Richardson. It's an annual outdoor art fest so I took Vixen with me so she could enjoy the walk in the park with me. She's a good car dog (as opposed to Patrick who gets carsick) so she gets to travel more. It was a beautiful fall day, upper 70s/low 80s, and there was a lot of really good art on display. Huffhines has more crafts than Cottonwood (which was another Dallas art festival earlier this month) so there's more variety. Typically, I got more good ideas for my own art than any actual shopping. *L* It's a more mundane crowd, a few illustrators, but mostly ceramics, painting, woodworking, crafts, and jewelry. I was really tempted by some jewelry vendors and one that specialized in a figure eight hairclip. *L* I think they see me and my long hair coming and start making the sales pitch right then. If they had anything in a color I liked, I would have bought one. As it is, I'm pretty sure that I could make my own.
I'm just funny that way.
