Possum 1, Dogs 0

There's nothing quite so exciting as waking the neighborhood with the baying of hounds. (I fully expect to hear from the yard nazi or his wife sometime today -- they live to nitpick.) I let Vixen out this morning around 5:15 and not five minutes later, Patrick was whining at the door so I let him out. There was a hollow BANG as he hit the fence at the end of the yard and the baying started almost immediately. It took me a few minutes to locate the flashlight and by the time I got out there, they had a juvenile opossum treed up on the top of the fence. Patrick has killed two possums in the yard so far and he was determined to get this one. I had to take a switch to him to get him to back off. (I hated that but I didn't want to get too close to the possum and there was no other way. I nudged the silly thing with a stick and it jumped off into the alley.

Needless to say. I'm wide awake now.

It's been a busy weekend. I taught 200 plus kids how to paint animal scarf slides at Cub Fun Day on Saturday. There's been a lot of running here and there with boy stuff. I measured artwork yesterday and plan to cut mats today. If I get that done early enough, maybe I can get art in the mail for Necronomicon but I think tomorrow is more likely. FenCon is only a few days away and I'm scrambling to get everything done.

pets, conventions, art, boy scouts, necro, fencon
