I really, really would like this week to be over. I've had two conferences with Ryan's teachers because in typical post-marching band season behavior, he's let his grades slip. It's really stupid stuff too -- inattention in class, not doing in class assignments, and so on. I wonder if maybe he's worrying a bit about his surgery next month. Unlike his brother who lets everyone know what's bugging him, Ry tends to bottle up and put up invisible walls.
I need to get on with Christmas stuff. The guys hauled everything down and put up the tree but left me to decorate. There's still ornaments to put up, the mantle to set up, and cooking to do. I want to try some new cookies this year. I've been enjoying madelaines from the store bakery and after looking up the recipe, I realized that I already have the cookie molds to do them from a fad back in the eighties. The Cooking Channel has also been featuring a Twelve Days of Cookies thing that had some interesting recipes that sound really good.
Time to hit the lab... er, kitchen.
